Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Head to lead our design and engineering function for heavy engineering equipment. The candidate will be responsible for managing the design team, driving engineering excellence, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting project execution from concept to manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the Mechanical Design department for heavy engineering projects.
- Develop and review designs, drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with Sales, Projects, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality teams for seamless project execution.
- Review and approve GA drawings, fabrication drawings, BOMs, and engineering documents.
- Drive design optimization, value engineering, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Mentor and develop a team of design engineers and draftsmen.




- Participate in technical discussions with customers, consultants, and third-party inspection agencies.
- Support proposal engineering and provide technical inputs during project bidding.
- Ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables while maintaining quality standards.

Preferred candidate profile

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 15+ years of experience in mechanical design within heavy engineering, process equipment, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, reactors, columns, storage tanks, or similar engineered equipment.
- Solid knowledge of ASME, TEMA, IS, API, and other relevant industry codes and standards.
- Proficiency in PV Elite or equivalent design software.
- Experience in leading engineering teams and handling multiple projects simultaneously.
