Role Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with solid experience in server/chassis design, electromechanical product development, EE-ME convergence, and sheet metal design. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on expertise in PTC Creo, Windchill, PCB mechanical integration, thermal management, tolerance analysis, and complex mechanical system design.
The candidate should have experience working on complex electronic systems, including server platforms, compute/storage systems, industrial electronics, or similar products. The role requires an individual contributor who can independently drive design activities,
collaborate with multiple engineering teams, support iterative product development cycles, and provide technical recommendations on packaging, stacking, connector placement, cooling, and harness routing.
Strong communication skills are mandatory as the candidate will interact directly with customers and cross-functional engineering teams
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and develop server chassis, electromechanical assemblies, and large mechanical systems using PTC Creo.
- Create and manage large assemblies, skeleton models, and sheet metal components.
- Perform EE-ME convergence activities involving PCB integration, connector placement, cable routing, packaging, and mechanical architecture.
- Collaborate with Electrical, PCB, Thermal, Manufacturing, Validation, and System Architecture teams throughout product development.
- Develop optimized mechanical solutions considering thermal, airflow, structural, manufacturability, and serviceability requirements.
- Perform GD&T;, tolerance stack-up analysis, and DFM reviews.
- Support thermal and cooling architecture decisions, airflow management, and mechanical packaging constraints.
- Support prototype builds, hardware verification, root cause analysis, and design improvements.
- Own BOM management, drawing release, and engineering change activities using Windchill.
- Support multiple product variants and iterative design cycles.
