About the role

Pepper is scaling its brand visibility and inbound engine, and content is the sharpest tool we have. We publish across a lot of surfaces: our website, the AI Native newsletter, social, email, sales collateral, and the events we curate. What we need now is one senior editorial brain who owns how Pepper sounds everywhere.

This is not a content-mill management job. You will define Pepper’s brand personality and language, set the editorial bar, and personally QC everything that carries our name. You will work directly with the marketing lead and alongside our in-house team (design, copy, SEO/GEO, events) who handle production. Think editor-in-chief meets brand voice architect: senior enough to set the standard, hands-on enough to rewrite a headline at 9 pm before a launch.

What you’ll own

- Brand personality and language. Define Pepper’s voice, tone, and messaging language across audiences and channels. Build the style guide — the words we use and avoid, and how our POV shows up in everything from a tweet to a keynote deck.
- Editorial QC across every surface. Final editorial pass on website copy, social posts, newsletters, marketing and lifecycle emails, sales collateral, event decks, and event agendas. If it ships with Pepper’s name on it, it goes through you.
- The AI Native newsletter. Own curation, editorial direction, and quality of our flagship newsletter. This is our sharpest brand asset and should read like the best independent newsletter in the category, not like corporate content.
- Event content. Shape agendas, session narratives, and speaker content for events we curate, so the room experiences the same brand as the inbox.
- Raising the team’s bar.

Coach our in-house writers and marketers so quality scales beyond your own edits. Build review rituals, templates, and feedback loops.
- A POV on AI-era content. Pepper sells content and GEO software. Our own content has to prove the thesis: human editorial judgment plus AI leverage. You’ll help define what that looks like in practice.

Who you are

- 5+ years in content and editorial, with at least a few of them setting brand voice at a B2B SaaS or media-quality brand. You have been an editor-in-chief, editorial director, head of content, or a very senior content strategist.
- Hands-on to the end. You still write and edit daily and enjoy it. Your portfolio shows work you personally shaped, not just teams you managed.
- Newsletter native. You have built or run a newsletter people actually forward. You understand curation as an editorial craft.
- Range across formats: long-form, social, email, sales collateral, and stage content. You can move between them without the voice breaking.
- Based in India, comfortable working remotely and collaborating async with a distributed team (including US-based stakeholders), with a few overlapping hours a week.

Reference points For the caliber we mean, think of the editorial sharpness of India’s best independent business journalism — the kind of reporting and clarity you see in The Ken or Finshots — combined with the brand voice of content-led Indian companies like Zerodha (Varsity, The Daily Brief) or CRED . Editorial credibility of that kind, applied to a B2B SaaS brand. If you have built or run a newsletter that people in the Indian creator and startup ecosystem actually forward, that is exactly the instinct we are looking for. This role is remote and adaptable by design — we care about the quality of your judgment and your work, not where you sit.
