Position Title: Manager - CSR, Education, Research and Partnerships

Location: US-India Strategic Partnership Forum, New Delhi (in office)

About USISPF and USIFA:

The U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and its philanthropic arm, the U.S.-India Friendship Alliance (USIFA), work to strengthen the U.S.-India relationship on critical issues impacting the U.S. and India. USIFA’s programmatic work advances this mission through a focus on people-to-people ties with initiatives focused on skilling, livelihoods, and community development, delivered in partnership with corporations, foundations, and grassroots organizations across India.

Role Overview:

The Manager, CSR, Education, Research and Partnerships will lead and grow USIFA’s philanthropy and CSR portfolio while supporting USISPF’s education portfolio.

In the CSR and philanthropy role, the Manager will work closely with USIFA’s Executive Director, based in Washington, DC, to advance USIFA’s programmatic and philanthropic priorities and represent the organization with corporate, CSR, foundation, and philanthropic partners. The Manager will play a central role in identifying, structuring, and managing partnerships that support USIFA’s programs, while ensuring alignment with India’s CSR regulatory framework.

The Manager will also advance USISPF’s education portfolio, centered on member advocacy and engagement, in close coordination with USISPF colleagues.

The ideal candidate combines strong knowledge of India’s CSR and philanthropy ecosystem with the relationship-building skills needed to operate credibly across the U.S.-India bilateral space.

Key Responsibilities:

Philanthropy, CSR, and Partnerships ï In partnership with USIFA’s Executive Director, advance USIFA's fundraising strategy in India, identifying, cultivating, and managing relationships with corporate, CSR, foundation, and philanthropic partners in India and the United States.

ï Structure partnership proposals, MOUs, and funding agreements in compliance with the Companies Act CSR provisions and related regulatory guidelines.

ï Manage the full partnership lifecycle, including prospect vetting, proposal development, negotiation, onboarding, implementation support, and reporting.

ï Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective partners and funding opportunities aligned with USIFA's priorities.

ï Represent USIFA with companies, foundations, NGOs, government stakeholders, and other strategic partners.

Program Design, Management,



and Stakeholder Engagement ï Work closely with USIFA’s Executive Director and USISPF’s India team to leverage its corporate network and identify opportunities for collaboration.

ï Lead the design and development of USIFA programs in India, including needs assessments, concept development, monitoring & evaluation, partner identification, budgets, and implementation plans.

ï Maintain strong partnerships with local partners, conduct site visits, and provide regular updates on program progress and impact.

ï Support the development of pitch decks, impact reports, donor communications, and other materials.

Education Portfolio: Member Advocacy and Engagement ï Support USISPF's education portfolio, supporting programs that advance member priorities in education and workforce readiness.

ï Serve as the primary point of contact for USISPF member companies on education-related advocacy and engagement, building strong working relationships across the membership base.

ï Coordinate with USISPF's policy and advocacy teams to align education programming with broader member interests.

ï Conduct policy research on education, science, and technology priorities relevant to the U.S.-India relationship, translating findings into actionable inputs for member engagement and advocacy.

ï Build and maintain working relationships with government stakeholders, including the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Skill Development, Ministry of Education and the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, to support USISPF's education and innovation policy priorities

ï Work with member companies to establish Centres of Excellence and strengthen partnerships with Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), advancing workforce readiness and skill-development priorities.

ï Engage with Indian Universities, CoE’s, and Incubators to develop a network and good understanding of strengths and offerings.

Qualifications and Experience:

ï Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in international development, public policy, business, social sciences, nonprofit management,



or a related field preferred.

ï 6-8 years of relevant professional experience in philanthropy, CSR, international development, corporate philanthropy, public policy, consultancy, or the nonprofit and development sector.

ï Demonstrated experience in fundraising and resource mobilization.

ï Demonstrated experience designing and managing social-impact programs in India.

ï Strong working knowledge of India's CSR guidelines and prevailing CSR compliance practices.

ï Experience managing corporate or foundation partnerships, from prospecting through reporting.

ï Strong research capabilities, with the ability to synthesize complex information and present findings in a clear, concise manner.

ï Familiarity with education and workforce development issues in the US-India context.

ï Comfort operating in the US-India bilateral space, with an understanding of the stakeholders, protocols, and sensitivities involved.

ï Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to develop compelling proposals, presentations, reports, and stakeholder correspondence.

ï Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate across geographies and time zones.

ï Entrepreneurial and proactive approach, with the ability to identify opportunities and take initiative from concept through implementation.

Other Requirements:

ï Willingness to travel within India, including to program implementation sites, as required.

ï Ability to work effectively with colleagues and partners across India and the United States, including occasional early morning or evening calls to accommodate US time zones.

ï Ability to work independently while maintaining close coordination with US-based colleagues and the broader USIFA and USISPF team.

ï High level of professionalism, discretion, integrity, and cultural sensitivity.
