Job Overview

We are looking for a mature, experienced, and highly proactive Manager – Contracts & Litigation to join our dynamic legal team. This role combines end-to-end ownership of the contracting lifecycle with active management of the company's litigation portfolio, serving as a key legal partner to business teams on commercial and risk matters.

The ideal candidate is a strong independent operator who can draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements, manage disputes and regulatory notices in coordination with external counsel, and proactively advise business teams on legal risk — including partnering on the legal feasibility of new business initiatives.

This role requires a professional who can balance strong drafting and negotiation skills with sound business judgment, while driving process efficiency, compliance, and mentorship within the legal team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Contract Management

● Independently draft, negotiate, and review contracts with vendors and clients end to end, including marketing, technology, and IP agreements.

● Take appropriate action to close out contracts in accordance with applicable procedures at the conclusion of all activity.

● Interpret contracts and advise business teams on their contractual rights, obligations, and responsibilities.

● Prepare and maintain legal templates for standard agreements.

● Maintain timely follow-up with vendors, customers, and consultants, providing appropriate information as and when needed.

● Identify opportunities for automation and train business teams to reduce day-to-day dependency on legal and build self-reliance.

2. Litigation Management

● Coordinate effectively with external Advocates and Counsels on all company litigation, including but not limited to consumer litigation.

● Oversee the preparation and review of all pleadings and documentation related to ongoing litigation.





● Draft legal notices, representations, and replies to notices issued by statutory authorities.

● Track litigation status and maintain accurate records/MIS for all open matters.

3. Compliance & Risk Management

● Assist the business with compliance and risk management matters; conduct legal audits and due diligence to identify and mitigate risk.

● Coordinate with internal departments to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal compliance frameworks.

● Keep track of changing laws and identify their applicability across business areas.

● Advise on data protection, privacy laws, and terms & conditions to ensure robust data governance.

4. Strategic Business Advisory

● Anticipate the legal support needs of the business and help define and drive strategic legal plans for new initiatives.

● Provide proactive advisory on new ventures, the regulatory landscape, and the legal feasibility of business models.

● Review advertisement creatives and marketing campaigns to ensure legal and ethical compliance.

5. Team Leadership

● Mentor and coach junior team members.

● Build strong working relationships with external counsel and drive a culture of accountability within the legal team.

Ideal Candidate Profile

● LLB degree from a reputable university; LLM is a plus.

● 5+ years of post-qualification experience, with demonstrated expertise in contract drafting/negotiation and litigation management.

● Working knowledge of the IT Act and data protection regulations.

● Proven ability to manage complex legal projects independently and end to end.

● Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, both written and verbal.

● Strong business acumen with the ability to give explicit, concise, business-focused legal advice.

● Strong analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail and risk identification.

● Ability to work under pressure and within committed service level agreements (SLAs).

● Team player with an open mindset to learn and unlearn as required.

● Strong ethical mindset with non-negotiable work ethics and a high degree of integrity.
