Looker

Responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing existing Looker BI environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with LookML development, dashboard/report support, incident management, and stakeholder communication in a production support setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day operational support for Looker dashboards, Explores, and reports, ensuring high availability and performance.

- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents/tickets related to data discrepancies, broken dashboards, performance issues, and access/permission requests within defined SLAs.

- Develop, modify, and maintain LookML models, views, Explores, and derived tables based on business requirements or change requests.

- Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement permanent fixes or process improvements.

- Manage Looker platform administration tasks: user/group access, permissions, content spaces/folders, and scheduling.





- Optimize SQL queries and LookML for performance (e.g., persistent derived tables, aggregate awareness, caching strategies).

- Collaborate with data engineering teams to validate upstream data pipeline changes impacting Looker models.

- Support enhancement requests: current dashboards, calculated fields, filters, or visualizations as part of minor change management.

- Maintain documentation: runbooks, data dictionaries, LookML style guides, and knowledge base articles.

- Participate in on-call rotation / shift-based support (if applicable) and adhere to ITIL-based incident/change/problem management processes.

- Conduct regular health checks, usage audits, and governance reviews of the Looker instance.

- Communicate effectively with business stakeholders on ticket status, root causes, and resolution timelines.
