Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Librarian role based in Coimbatore. The Librarian will manage day-to-day library operations, including cataloging, organizing, and maintaining physical and digital collections relevant to medical and healthcare education.

Responsibilities include assisting students, faculty, and clinicians with information retrieval, literature searches, and access to research resources, as well as providing orientation and instruction on effective use of library tools and databases. The Librarian will oversee circulation services, maintain accurate records and metadata, support academic projects and evidence-based clinical decision-making, and contribute to policies that ensure efficient, user-friendly library services.



Collaboration with academic departments to align resources with curriculum and research needs is an essential part of this role.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Library Science and Library Management, with the ability to organize, catalog, and maintain medical and academic collections.
- Experience in Library Services, including user support, circulation, reference assistance, and access to digital and print resources.
- Knowledge of Metadata standards and practices for cataloging, classification, and database management in a library setting.
- Skill in Library Instruction, including training users on search strategies, database use, and information literacy.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field; specialization or experience in medical or academic libraries is an advantage.
- Proficiency with integrated library systems, digital repositories, and online research databases (e.g., PubMed, Scopus, or similar tools).
- Solid organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-demand academic environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, clinicians, and administrative staff.
- Commitment to equitable access to information and adherence to ethical and confidentiality standards in handling academic and clinical resources.
