Summary Based at GEV Power Conversion Chennai site the lead Power System Engineer -System engineering role is an exciting opportunity for an action-oriented individual with deep technical foundation of Power Conversion equipment. You will be able to leverage your technical knowledge to directly support our valued customer through execution of projects with Power Conversions state of the art products and solutions across the globe, while you collaborate across the globe with key functional teams and enhance your strategic business acumen.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Support Business Verticals in creating and reviewing (in conjunction with the leadershipteam) systems solutions as part oftheOTR process, ensuring that solutions aretechnically fit for purpose and that technical risk is understood andmanagedwithcontingencies identified.
- Lead project execution - Analyze customer''s contract, prepare specifications to vendors and internal stake holders.
- Basic and Detailed engineering for variable speed drive system, Converter dutytransformer, MV/LV motor, MV/LVswitchgear,power and signal cables
- Prepare technical documentation as per contractual requirements, vendor documentation review.
- Perform / review power system design and studies for various industries/domains.
- Identify technical risks and put in place the mitigation plan.
- Review solutions developed and identify opportunities for improvement of process, system, or equipment
- Ensure strict compliance with all company and customers EHS policies and procedures
- Identify and propose improvements in processes, tools, system solutions andtechnologies, rolling out improvementswhenagreed with leadership team.
- Foster relationship with other GE business entities to maximize the benefits of synergies.
- Liaise with Platform Engineering, Technology and Value Engineering, and Supply Chain asappropriate to support theprojectand the business.




- Liaise with other GE businesses, platform verticals, supply chain, sub-contractors andsuppliers as appropriate to supporttheproject and the business.
- Drive lean mind set to provide optimum technical solutions for the projects.

Required Qualifications

- Masters / Bachelors degree in electrical engineering from reputed College/University
- Minimum of 10 to 12 yearsexperience in engineering design / power system studies forsystems based on VSD,Transformer,Motor, Switchgear
- Experience of system integration working on multi-discipline projects
- Knowledge and application of International Standards.
- Conversant with marine classification society (ABS, DNV, LR, BV etc) rules for equipment certification.
- Ability to adapt and multitask with project/application engineers.
- Analytical and creative approach in problem solving.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
