Role Description The Lead Design Engineer – Transmission Line is a full time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad. This role is responsible for leading the design and engineering of high-voltage transmission lines, including conceptual and detailed design, optimization of line routes, and preparation of technical drawings and specifications.

The Lead Design

Engineer collaborates closely with project managers, construction teams, and survey teams to ensure designs are practical, compliant with relevant codes and standards, and aligned with project timelines and budgets. Daily activities include reviewing design calculations,



coordinating with CAD and engineering teams, addressing technical queries, and supporting tender and bid documentation. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers, implementing best practices in design, and contributing to continuous improvement of engineering processes and digital design tools.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Design Engineering and Product Design, with the ability to lead end-to-end transmission line design activities.
- Proficiency in Mechanical Engineering concepts relevant to structures, towers, and line components.
- Solid knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles related to high-voltage transmission systems and grid integration.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for transmission line layouts, tower designs, and detailed drawings.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Power Engineering (or a closely related discipline).
- Experience in transmission line EPC projects, including familiarity with national and international standards (e.g., IS, IEC).
- Ability to interpret survey data, perform design calculations, and validate structural and electrical design integrity.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and safety-focused thinking.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams and working with digital project monitoring or data-driven tools is an advantage.
