Role Description The Lab Technician/Phlebotomist role at Bridge Health is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The individual in this role is responsible for collecting blood and other specimens using safe and hygienic techniques, labeling and handling samples accurately, and preparing them for testing or transport to partner laboratories. Daily tasks include maintaining sterile equipment, following standard operating procedures, performing basic laboratory tests under supervision, and documenting results in laboratory information systems.
The role also involves verifying patient identity, explaining procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort, and adhering to infection control and safety protocols at all times.
The Lab
Technician/Phlebotomist works closely with clinicians and care coordinators to support preventive health programs and ensure timely, reliable diagnostic information.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in phlebotomy and specimen collection, including venipuncture, capillary sampling, and safe handling of biological materials.
- Competence in basic laboratory procedures, sample processing, equipment maintenance, and adherence to quality control standards.
- Knowledge of infection prevention, biosafety, and regulatory guidelines relevant to laboratory operations and patient care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with patients and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary care teams.
- Attention to detail, accurate recordkeeping, and familiarity with electronic health records or laboratory information systems.
- Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Phlebotomy, or a related allied health field from a recognized institution.
- Relevant certifications in phlebotomy or laboratory technology and prior experience in a clinical or diagnostic lab setting are highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, manage time effectively in a high-volume environment, and maintain professional conduct with diverse patient populations.
