Role Purpose

NCS is looking for a core L3 System Specialist to provide advanced technical ownership across enterprise systems infrastructure. The role will focus on designing, supporting, troubleshooting and improving Windows/Linux server environments, virtualisation platforms, backup, disaster recovery, monitoring and operational resilience.

The engineer will act as the escalation point for complex incidents, guide L1/L2 engineers, and ensure systems are secure, reliable and well-documented.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide Level 3 technical support for enterprise systems, including complex incident resolution, root cause analysis and service restoration.
- Design, deploy, configure and manage enterprise system infrastructure across Windows Server, Linux and virtualised environments.
- Administer and maintain platforms such as Windows Server, Linux, VMware,Nutanix and/or Hyper-V.
- Perform upgrades, hardening and performance tuning.
- Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
- Support common infrastructure services such as Active Directory, DNS, endpoint protection, logging and privileged access tools.
- Monitor system health, capacity, performance and availability using enterprise monitoring/logging platforms.
- Collaborate with Cyber and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with security standards and operational policies.
- Maintain technical documentation, system configuration records, SOPs and operational runbooks.




- Mentor L1/L2 engineers and provide technical guidance during major incidents or service improvement initiatives.
- Support 24x7 standby or after-hours support when required by project operations.

Required Skills and Experience

- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Solid experience in system administration, preferably in an enterprise or managed services environment.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Windows Server and/or Linux administration
- VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V or equivalent virtualization platforms
- Backup and disaster recovery technologies
- System monitoring, logging and alerting tools
- Patch management and system hardening

- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing basics and OSI layers.
- Experience with incident, problem and change management processes.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and support critical production systems.

Preferred Qualifications

- Microsoft, Red Hat, VMware, Nutanix or equivalent infrastructure certifications.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms.
- Experience with automation or scripting using PowerShell, Bash or Python.
- Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM practices.
