Job Purpose :

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable enterprise applications and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot. The role will collaborate with business and technical teams to understand requirements, develop high-quality software, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to continuous improvement of application performance, security, and reliability

Role & responsibilities :

- Design of the overall architecture of the web application
- Implementation of a robust set of services and APIs to power the web application
- Building reusable code and libraries for future use
- Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability
- Understanding of REST API security, authentication/authorization, JWT, OAuth2, and Spring Security.
- Integration of the front-end and back-end aspects of the web application
- Maintain quality and ensure responsiveness of applications
- Collaborate with the rest of the development team to design and launch new features
- Review team members code, suggest and knowledge sharing with team
- Maintain code integrity and organization
- Work cooperatively with others
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent
- 3+ years relevant software development experience creating business applications in a high-volume operational environment
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing applications using Java, preferably Java 17 or later.
- Previous hands on experience with developing software with Agile methodologies




- Strong experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL or MySQL, including SQL queries, joins, indexes, transactions, and stored procedures.

Preferred Experience:

- Strong time management skills - including ability to work well under pressure, plan, set priorities, adapt to change, and meet established timelines
- Understanding of service-to-service communication, API versioning, fault tolerance, and distributed systems.
- Ability to perform in a DevOps environment providing application code fixes with minimum incidents and high quality
- Effective analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capability
- Critical thinking
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn and take directions and provide guidance to a team
- Excellent interpersonal, research, and communication skills
- Proficient knowledge of back-end programming
- Any experience with Azure services and cloud-based application deployment is a plus.

Technical Skills Preferred

- 3+ years of hands-on Java development with Solid knowledge of Java 17+ (Core Java, OOP, Collections, Streams, Lambda expressions, Exception handling, Multithreading/concurrency, Generics and Java 8+ features)
- Strong experience with Spring Boot
- Spring MVC / Spring Framework
- RESTful API development
- JPA / Hibernate
- SQL and relational databases
- JUnit 5 / Mockito
- Git, BitBucket
- Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
- Agile/Scrum development
- Debugging and production issue resolution
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ is preferred.
