We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Lead with 8 - 10 years of overall experience and at least 7 years of strong hands-on experience in Java Backend Development.

The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in Core Java 11, Spring Boot, Microservices, Multithreading, Data Structures & Algorithms, Design Patterns, Spring Security, Kafka, JPA/Hibernate, and AWS Cloud services.

The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining highly scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications.

This role requires a strong hands-on engineer who can contribute to architecture and technical design, drive development best practices, troubleshoot complex production issues, and mentor other developers.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Java internals and be comfortable working on distributed systems, concurrent applications, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native backend services.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java 11 and Spring Boot.
- Lead the development of robust, highly available, and performance-oriented microservices.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable backend solutions.
- Participate in application architecture and technical design discussions.
- Define and implement appropriate design patterns, coding standards, and development best practices.
- Develop RESTful APIs and backend services for integration with internal and external applications.
- Implement secure APIs and application components using Spring Security.
- Develop and maintain distributed, event-driven services using Apache Kafka.
- Design and implement asynchronous processing and messaging workflows.
- Work with AWS services, including Amazon MSK, Amazon S3, and AWS Lambda.
- Develop and deploy serverless functions using AWS Lambda where appropriate.
- Design applications for scalability, reliability, performance, and fault tolerance.
- Analyze application performance and optimize code, database queries, APIs, and service interactions.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues across application, database, messaging, and cloud layers.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to clean-code and engineering standards.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level developers on Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and software engineering practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, technical discussions, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, architecture, and engineering practices.
- Ensure production-ready implementation through appropriate unit testing, integration testing, logging, monitoring, and error handling.

Required Technical Skills :

- 7 years of hands-on experience in Java Backend Development.
- Strong proficiency in Core Java 11.
- Strong understanding of Java Collections Framework, Exception Handling, Generics, Streams, Lambda Expressions, Functional Interfaces, and Java 8 features.




- Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
- Good understanding of JVM concepts and memory management.
- Strong understanding of Java concurrency and multithreading.
- Strong hands-on understanding of Java Multithreading and Concurrency.
- Experience working with threads, executors, thread pools, synchronization, locks, and concurrent collections.
- Understanding of race conditions, deadlocks, thread safety, and synchronization mechanisms.
- Ability to design high-performance concurrent applications.
- Strong knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms.
- Hands-on understanding of arrays, linked lists, stacks, queues, trees, graphs, hash-based data structures, sorting, searching, and complexity analysis.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to select appropriate data structures and algorithms based on application requirements.
- Strong understanding of HashMap internals, including :
- Hashing mechanism.
- Hash buckets and indexing.
- Collision handling.
- equals() and hashCode() contract.
- Load factor and capacity.
- Rehashing/resizing.
- Collision resolution mechanisms.
- Performance considerations.
- Differences between HashMap, ConcurrentHashMap, LinkedHashMap, and other collection implementations.
- 6 years of hands-on experience with Spring Boot.
- Strong knowledge of Spring Core and dependency injection.
- Experience building production-grade REST APIs and microservices using Spring Boot.
- Strong understanding of Spring configuration, profiles, dependency management, and application lifecycle.
- Experience with Spring Security for authentication and authorization.
- Experience with JAX-RS and RESTful web services.
- Knowledge of service-to-service communication and distributed application design.
- Experience with Hystrix or equivalent circuit-breaker/resilience frameworks.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and developing Microservices Architecture.
- Understanding of service decomposition and bounded contexts.
- Experience with inter-service communication.
- Knowledge of synchronous and asynchronous communication patterns.
- Understanding of service discovery, fault tolerance, resiliency, and scalability.
- Experience handling distributed transactions and failure scenarios.
- Understanding of API versioning and backward compatibility.
- Experience building independently deployable services.
- Strong working knowledge of Apache Kafka.
- Experience developing event-driven applications using Kafka.
- Understanding of producers, consumers, topics, partitions, offsets, and consumer groups.
- Experience designing asynchronous communication between microservices.
- Understanding of Kafka scalability, fault tolerance, and message-processing patterns.
- Exposure to Amazon MSK (Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka) is required.




- Strong experience with Spring Data JPA.
- Strong understanding of Hibernate ORM.
- Experience designing entities, relationships, repositories, and database access layers.
- Knowledge of JPQL, native queries, pagination, sorting, and transaction management.
- Understanding of lazy/eager loading and entity lifecycle.
- Ability to identify and resolve common ORM performance issues such as N 1 queries.
- Robust understanding of database transactions and concurrency.
- Experience developing serverless Lambda functions.
- Understanding of event-driven serverless architecture.
- Ability to integrate Lambda with APIs, messaging systems, storage, and other AWS services.
- Understanding of scalability, execution limits, error handling, and monitoring.
- Experience using S3 for object storage.
- Knowledge of buckets, objects, access policies, lifecycle management, and secure application integration.
- Experience integrating S3 with backend applications and serverless workflows.
- Hands-on exposure to Spring WebFlux.
- Understanding of reactive and non-blocking programming.
- Experience building reactive APIs and services.
- Knowledge of Project Reactor is an advantage.
- Experience using Spring WebClient for asynchronous/non-blocking HTTP communication.
- Understanding of connection management, timeout handling, retries, and error handling.
- Prior experience working in the e-commerce domain will be highly desirable.
- Exposure to high-volume transactions, order management, payment integrations, inventory, product catalogues, customer journeys, or marketplace systems will be an advantage.
- Experience building scalable systems capable of handling high traffic and transaction volumes is preferred.
- Provide technical leadership to backend engineering teams.
- Review technical designs and provide constructive architectural feedback.
- Conduct code reviews and establish coding best practices.
- Mentor developers and support technical skill development.
- Identify technical risks and propose appropriate solutions.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, product teams, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders.

Skills :

- Take ownership of backend components from design through development, deployment, and production support.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 8 - 10 years of overall software development experience.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant Java Backend Development experience.
- Minimum 6 years of Spring Boot experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in microservices and distributed systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- A strong hands-on Java Backend Engineer / Technical Lead.
- Highly proficient in Java 11 and Spring Boot.
- Strong in Microservices, Multithreading, DSA, Design Patterns, and Java internals.
- Comfortable designing scalable and high-performance backend systems.
- Experienced with Kafka and AWS cloud services.
- Strong in debugging, performance optimization, and production issue resolution.
- Capable of mentoring developers while remaining technically hands-on
