As a Investment Advisor you’ll spend most of your time on research, portfolio construction, monitoring, and client documentation. You’ll also engage directly with clients on an as-needed basis - onboarding conversations, review meetings, query resolution, and supporting senior advisers during planning discussions. This is a role for someone who treats every recommendation as something they would have to defend on paper a year later, and who takes ownership without being chased.

Key responsibilities

•Build and review mutual fund portfolios (direct plans) across equity, debt, and hybrid categories aligned to each client’s goals, risk tolerance, time horizon, and tax situation.

•Analyse scheme performance, fund manager track records, portfolio composition, expense ratios, and risk-adjusted returns. Recommend rebalancing, switches, or SIP/STP/SWP changes with a clearly stated rationale.

•Engage with clients on an as-required basis - onboarding, periodic reviews, ad-hoc queries, and proactive outreach during volatile markets. Translate complex ideas into language a non-finance client can act on.

•Maintain comprehensive client records: risk profile, IPS (investment policy statement), suitability documentation, fee agreements, periodic reviews, and consent trails.

•Stay current on AMC product changes, NFOs (where suitable), regulatory updates, taxation changes, and market developments. Convert these into transparent, actionable inputs for the advisory team and clients.

•Identify gaps in internal processes - research workflows, review cadence, client reporting templates — and propose fixes. We expect initiative, not just execution.

What we’re looking for in the person :

What actually matters: are you a self-starter? When you see a client portfolio drifting from its target allocation,

do you flag it and fix it, or wait for next review cycle? When a client asks something you don’t know, do you dig in until you’ve actually understood it or do you give a polished non-answer? When a process is broken, do you raise it and propose a fix?

We want someone with genuine intellectual curiosity about markets and products, a habit of going one layer deeper than the obvious answer, and the discipline to follow through on commitments without prompting. As an RIA, our reputation lives or dies on the quality of advice we put on paper - so attention to detail, written clarity, and the ability to explain why a recommendation makes sense are non-negotiable.

Preferred qualifications

•Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in mutual fund or investment advisory, ideally at an RIA, wealth management firm, family office, or AMC research desk

•NISM Series X-A (Investment Adviser Level 1) and NISM Series X-B (Investment Adviser Level 2)

•Working knowledge of portfolio construction, asset allocation frameworks, goal-based planning, and the tax treatment of mutual fund investments

•Fluency in reading factsheets, scheme information documents, fund manager commentary, and financial statements.

•CFA Level 1/2 cleared (Level 3 candidate or charter holder is a strong plus)

•Exposure to broader wealth products – PMS, AIFs, REITs, InvITs
