Role Description The Internet of Things (IoT) Engineer will design, develop, and implement IoT solutions that support Skillnet Learning’s Industry 4.0 and Digital Manufacturing programs. Day-to-day responsibilities include configuring and integrating IoT hardware devices (such as sensors and microcontrollers), developing and testing embedded and application-level software, and ensuring reliable data collection, communication, and processing across connected systems. The role involves collaborating with instructional and technical teams to create demonstrable IoT use cases and lab setups, troubleshooting system issues, and documenting architectures, code, and deployment processes.
This is a full-time, in office role based in the Mohali district,
requiring regular collaboration with local stakeholders and hands-on work with equipment.
Qualifications
- Strong Internet of Things (IoT) skills, including experience with connected devices, sensors, communication protocols, and system integration.
- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, ideally with languages commonly used for IoT solutions (such as Python, C/C++, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with IoT hardware platforms such as Raspberry Pi or comparable single-board computers and microcontroller environments.
- Familiarity with Inductive Output Tube (IOT) concepts or other relevant electronics and RF components, and the ability to apply basic electronic principles.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals, cloud or edge computing concepts, and data security in connected systems.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- Ability to work on-site in Mohali district, collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams, and communicate complex technical topics clearly.
- Experience with Industry 4.0, automation, or digital manufacturing environments is an advantage.
