Position Overview

K.R. Mangalam University is looking for a skilled and hands-on Interior Designer who will be responsible for managing interior projects from concept and design through execution and final completion. The candidate will coordinate with labour, contractors, vendors, and internal teams while ensuring that all work is executed as per the approved design, quality standards, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop interior design concepts, layouts, and space-planning solutions for university spaces.
- Prepare and coordinate 2D,3D drawings, layouts, elevations, and detailed execution drawings.
- Take site measurements and assess existing site conditions before starting projects.
- Convert approved designs into practical and cost-effective execution plans.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, carpenters, electricians, painters, plumbers, and other workers.
- Supervise day-to-day interior execution and site activities.
- Coordinate and manage labour for timely completion of assigned work.
- Prepare material requirements and coordinate for material collection, delivery, and availability at site.




- Check materials for quality and ensure they match the approved specifications and design.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure execution is as per drawings and approved designs.
- Conduct regular site inspections and resolve design/execution-related issues.
- Coordinate with the concerned university departments for approvals and project requirements.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion.
- Maintain records of drawings, material requirements, site progress, and completed work.
- Ensure proper utilization of materials and minimize wastage.
- Coordinate final finishing, snag rectification, and project handover.
- Provide regular updates to management regarding project status, material requirements, labor, and pending activities.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor's/Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in interior design and site execution will be preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D software, and MS Office will be an advantage.
- Robust labour, contractor, and vendor coordination skills.
- Practical understanding of on-site execution and problem-solving.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in interior design and site execution.
