Role & Responsibilities
- Work on Interior Design + Build and Interior Architectural projects across residential, F&B;, hospitality, retail and workplace sectors.
- Participate in the complete design process concept development, space planning, design development, material selection, detailing, GFC drawings and execution coordination.
- Develop strong design concepts, mood boards, material palettes and client presentations.
- Prepare detailed AutoCAD working drawings and GFC packages, including plans, elevations, sections, RCPs, flooring, electrical layouts, wall details, toilet/kitchen details and construction details.
- Develop detailed drawings for fixed furniture, cabinetry, millwork, panelling and bespoke furniture.
- Work closely with BDP's in-house furniture manufacturing team to translate designs into buildable furniture and joinery.
- Coordinate materials, finishes, hardware, lighting, sanitaryware and other project specifications.
- Coordinate with architects, project managers, site supervisors, contractors, consultants, vendors and furniture teams.
- Conduct site visits for measurements, design coordination, quality checks and resolution of execution issues.
- Review shop drawings, samples, mock-ups and prototypes before production/execution.
- Coordinate architectural/interior drawings with electrical, plumbing, HVAC and other services.
- Maintain drawing revisions and ensure approved information is properly communicated to site and production teams.
- Understand the cost and execution implications of design decisions and work towards practical, buildable solutions without compromising design intent.
- Research new materials, products, finishes, furniture, fabrication techniques and design references.
- Take ownership of assigned work and proactively follow tasks through to completion rather than depending on constant follow-ups.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Degree/Diploma in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture or a related discipline.
- 1–5 years of relevant professional experience preferred.
- Robust proficiency in AutoCAD is essential, particularly detailed drawings and GFC documentation.
- Good working knowledge of SketchUp; rendering and Adobe software knowledge is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of materials, joinery, furniture, hardware, finishes and interior construction methods.
- Ability to move comfortably between creative design thinking and technical detailing.
- A good eye for proportion, materiality, detailing, composition and finishing.
- Candidates should be interested in understanding how things are actually made and executed, not only how they look in a presentation.
- Strong communication, coordination and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables and work within project timelines.
