Role Description The Instrument Technician role at Sumicon Engineering is a full-time, on-site position based in Ranchi.

The Instrument

Technician will install, maintain, and repair industrial instruments and control systems used in process plants and related facilities. Daily responsibilities include performing routine inspections, executing calibration activities, supporting process control operations, and carrying out preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime. The role involves troubleshooting instrumentation issues, documenting maintenance work, and coordinating with engineers and operations teams to ensure equipment reliability and adherence to safety standards.

The Instrument

Technician is expected to follow company procedures, comply with regulatory requirements,



and contribute to continuous improvement in plant performance.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of instrumentation and industrial control equipment, with hands-on experience in installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Skills in process control and operational monitoring, including understanding of control loops and basic automation principles.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and fault diagnosis for instruments and control systems, using appropriate tools and methods.
- Experience with calibration and testing of sensors, transmitters, gauges, and related devices to maintain accuracy and reliability.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance activities, plan routine checks, and maintain detailed service records.
- Understanding of safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and relevant industrial standards and regulations.
- Diploma or degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs;, manuals, and specifications.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in office.
- Willingness to work in industrial environments, adapt to project needs, and support occasional extended hours when required.
