About the UNIT/ Unit Overview Digital Product Engineering Location Pune Experience: 8 to 12 years, Number of openings 1 What awaits you/ Job Profile Own the complete mechanical design and integration of the HV battery system from concept to SOP. Develop battery-pack architecture, packaging concepts and vehicle interfaces. Design battery enclosures, covers, module mountings, cooling interfaces and protection structures. Translate system requirements into mechanical specifications and design solutions. Ensure compliance with safety, crash, durability, environmental and homologation requirements. Lead design reviews and coordinate with CAE, electrical, thermal, vehicle and manufacturing teams. Drive design for manufacturability, assembly, serviceability and cost optimization. Manage tolerance analysis, GD&T;, interface control and dimensional validation. Support prototype builds, design validation, pilot production and production ramp-up. Lead technical issue resolution, design maturity and engineering changes through SOP. What should you bring along Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Production or related Engineering. 10 to 15 years of automotive product-development experience. Robust experience in HV battery mechanical design and vehicle integration. Proven exposure to the complete product lifecycle from concept to SOP. Sound knowledge of passenger-car development and production-release processes. Experience collaborating with vehicle, crash, thermal,
electrical, CAE and manufacturing teams. Practical exposure to prototype builds, validation testing and production launch. Strong knowledge of automotive materials, joining methods, sealing and corrosion protection. Ability to balance safety, performance, weight, cost, quality and manufacturability. Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, communication and supplier-management skills. Must have technical skill Expert-level proficiency in CATIA V5 and/or 3DEXPERIENCE. Strong capability in 3D modelling, assembly design, packaging and production drawings. Hands-on experience with Teamcenter for CAD, BOM, release and change management. In-depth knowledge of HV battery cell, module and pack construction. Experience in battery enclosure, cover, mounting and underbody protection design. Knowledge of cooling plates, sealing, venting and thermal-interface integration. Strong understanding of GD&T;, datum strategy and tolerance stack-up. Knowledge of crash, vibration, shock, durability and underbody-impact load cases. Experience in Design for Manufacturing, Assembly and Serviceability. Working knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R;, design reviews and engineering change management. Good to have Technical skills Knowledge of UN R100, AIS-038, ISO 6469 and relevant battery safety standards. Experience in battery structural, crash, vibration and fatigue CAE. Familiarity with Abaqus, LS-DYNA, ANSA, HyperMesh or equivalent tools. Knowledge of battery thermal management and cooling-system architecture. Experience with aluminium castings, extrusions, sheet metal and hybrid structures. Knowledge of adhesives, gaskets, sealing design and leak-testing methods. Familiarity with 3DCS, CETOL or other tolerance-analysis tools. Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA and supplier-quality processes. Awareness of ISO 26262, systems engineering and requirement traceability. Experience in battery benchmarking, lightweighting, cost optimization and recyclability.
