Hospitality Consultant

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Resort Consultant with strong knowledge of resort management, hospitality operations, market research, and contract handling. The consultant will be responsible for studying market opportunities, gathering relevant business and competitor information, supporting resort operations and management decisions, and developing strategies to improve the resort's business performance.
The candidate should be comfortable travelling to resorts, client locations, markets, and other destinations whenever required.
Knowledge of Odia (Odia language) will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
Resort Management & Operations
- Provide professional consulting support for resort operations and management.
- Review existing resort operations, processes, service standards, and business performance.
- Identify operational gaps and recommend practical improvements.
- Support management in improving guest experience, occupancy, revenue, service quality, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with resort management, operations teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Understand the overall functioning of resort departments including front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, maintenance, sales, and guest relations.
Market Research & Information Gathering
- Conduct market research to identify current hospitality and resort industry trends.
- Gather information on competitors, room rates, packages, occupancy trends, customer preferences, facilities, and services.
- Identify potential business opportunities and emerging resort destinations.
- Conduct field visits and interact with relevant local stakeholders when required.
- Collect and analyze market information and prepare reports for management.
- Provide recommendations based on market conditions, competitor activities, and customer trends.
Contract & Agreement Management
- Review and support the management of resort-related contracts and agreements.
- Coordinate with property owners, operators, vendors, contractors, service providers, and business partners.
- Assist in reviewing commercial terms, scope of work, responsibilities, payment terms, renewal clauses, and other contractual requirements.
- Monitor contract timelines, renewals, obligations, and deliverables.
- Maintain proper records of contracts and related documentation.
- Coordinate with management and legal/finance teams wherever required.
Business Development & Strategic Support
- Identify opportunities to improve resort revenue and business performance.
- Support management in evaluating potential properties, partnerships, vendors, and business opportunities.
- Conduct feasibility and market assessments for potential resort projects.
- Develop recommendations for pricing, positioning, services, and market expansion.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with industry contacts and local stakeholders.
Travel & Field Work
- Travel to resorts, properties, client locations, competitor properties, and market locations as required.
- Conduct in office assessments and gather first-hand market information.
- Meet with resort owners, management teams, vendors, contractors,
and other stakeholders.
- Prepare visit reports and provide actionable recommendations after field visits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in resort management or the hospitality industry.
- Strong practical experience in resort operations and management.
- Proven experience in contract handling, agreement coordination, or vendor/partner management.
- Experience conducting market research and competitor analysis.
- Strong understanding of the hospitality and resort business environment.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel as required.
- Good communication, negotiation, analytical, and relationship-management skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Google Sheets, and report preparation.
Nice to Haves
The ideal candidate should be a hands-on hospitality professional with strong resort management experience, rather than someone with only theoretical knowledge. The candidate should be capable of independently visiting properties, understanding resort operations, gathering market intelligence, evaluating business opportunities, handling contracts and stakeholder coordination, and providing practical recommendations to management.
Candidates with experience working with resort owners, hospitality groups, property operators, tourism businesses, or hotel management companies will be preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in resort management or the hospitality industry.
Compensation
Salary : ₹3,00,000 – ₹7,20,000 per annum
