ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Academic Leadership
- Lead the effective implementation and continuous development of the Cambridge curriculum and educational framework.
- Ensure curriculum planning, teaching practices, assessments and learning outcomes meet international standards.
- Establish strong systems for lesson planning, classroom observations, academic audits and student progress tracking.
- Drive innovative, inquiry-based, experiential and student-centred learning practices.
- Analyse academic data and implement improvement strategies to enhance student achievement.
Cambridge Standards & Compliance
- Lead and support the Cambridge registration/approval process and ongoing compliance requirements.
- Ensure school policies, documentation, curriculum delivery and academic practices align with Cambridge expectations.
- Coordinate preparations for Cambridge inspections, reviews and quality-assurance processes.
- Maintain appropriate academic records and ensure examination and assessment procedures are implemented effectively.
Faculty Leadership & Development
- Recruit, mentor, motivate and retain high-quality international and national teaching professionals.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive academic feedback.
- Develop structured teacher training, professional development and performance-management systems.
- Build a professional culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation and continuous learning.
School Leadership & Operations
- Provide strategic leadership for the overall academic and operational functioning of the Cambridge wing.
- Work closely with Management to establish annual goals, academic priorities and school-development plans.
- Ensure effective coordination between academics, administration, admissions, activities and student-support teams.
- Establish clear SOPs, policies and systems for smooth day-to-day school operations.
- Maintain high standards of student safety, safeguarding, discipline and wellbeing.
Student Development
- Create an inclusive, engaging and internationally benchmarked learning environment.
- Promote leadership, communication, critical thinking, creativity, sports, arts and holistic development.
- Establish systems to identify individual learning needs and provide appropriate academic support.
- Develop a positive school culture where students feel respected, challenged and inspired.
Parent & Community Engagement
- Build strong and professional relationships with parents and the wider school community.
- Conduct orientations, academic meetings and parent engagement programmes.
- Address academic and student-related concerns professionally and proactively.
- Represent the school confidently at educational forums, conferences and community events.
Strategic Growth
- Support Management in positioning the school as a leading Cambridge institution.
- Contribute to admissions, retention and overall institutional growth through strong academic leadership.
- Develop international collaborations, exchange opportunities and global educational partnerships.
- Introduce global best practices that strengthen the school’s international identity.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Master’s Degree in Education / Educational Leadership or equivalent
- Relevant leadership qualification preferred
- Significant experience as Principal / Head of School / Academic Director in a Cambridge or reputed international school
- Strong knowledge of Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE and/or AS & A Level programmes
- Proven experience in school improvement and academic quality assurance
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and international-school best practices
- Excellent English communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Experience leading multicultural faculty and diverse student communities
- Strong technology orientation and understanding of modern educational practices
- Experience with Cambridge school registration/approval will be an added advantage
