What You'll Do
As a GNC Engineer, you will focus on developing the navigation and state-estimation capabilities that enable precise and autonomous spacecraft operations. You will work on spacecraft state estimation, sensor fusion, GNSS/INS navigation, attitude and orbit determination, and relative navigation for rendezvous and proximity operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and validate spacecraft navigation and state-estimation algorithms
- Develop and tune Extended Kalman Filters (EKF) and other state-estimation algorithms for spacecraft applications
- Support navigation algorithm development for rendezvous, proximity operations, and autonomous spacecraft operations
- Develop high-fidelity sensor models including measurement noise, bias, scale factor, misalignment, latency, and other error sources
- Analyze navigation performance and troubleshoot estimation issues using simulation and test data
- Perform navigation error analysis, observability analysis, covariance analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, and performance assessment
- Support the implementation and integration of navigation algorithms on flight hardware and participate in SIL, PIL, and HIL testing and validation activities
- Collaborate with GNC, flight software, systems,
and mission design teams to integrate navigation solutions into the spacecraft
What We Look For
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Electronics, Control Systems, or a related engineering discipline
- 1+ years of experience in spacecraft navigation, state estimation, GNSS/INS, robotics, or a related field
- Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, C/C++, and/or Python
- Strong understanding of estimation theory, Kalman filtering, state-space models, probability, and sensor fusion
- Understanding of spacecraft navigation sensors such as GNSS, IMU, star trackers, and optical navigation sensors
- Experience with numerical analysis, simulation, and algorithm development
- You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments, adapt quickly, and enjoy solving hard problems
Preferred Qualifications
- Skilled or academic experience with GNSS-based orbit determination and/or relative GPS navigation
- Experience implementing navigation algorithms on a flight computer
- Experience supporting or conducting SIL, PIL, or HIL testing and validation
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation including ESOPs
- Role-based workplace flexibility
- Annual vacations
- Health insurance coverage
- Professional mental wellness services
