Role & responsibilities

We are looking for a candidate with a solid utility and GIS domain background in playing a techno-functional lead role in implementing GIS solutions for Electric/ Gas Utilities specific to ESRI platforms. The candidate will need to have experience in implementing GIS solutions in North American Utilities markets. Experience in implementing other GIS systems will be an added advantage. Candidates with strong development background in Esri suite of applications will be preferred in this role.

The typical responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the following:

- Should be able to lead the design, build, test and deploy solution on ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server (Javascript API, HTML5, Type Script, React JS), ArcGIS Online, Web App Builder and ArcGIS Mobile.
- Should be familiar with the latest technological trends in the GIS Industry and the roadmap of Esri solutions.
- Should be able to contribute in the functional workshops with business for GIS requirements
- Should be able to do the demos during the functional workshops using the GIS product. Should participate in requirement discussions with the client for the GIS program.
- Should be able to map the customer requirements into the product and suggest workarounds/solutions for the requirements
- Should be able to guide the developers in resolving issues related to the development. The key focus areas will be Javascript API, HTML5, Type Script, Silverlight API and ArcGIS Runtime development platform (Xamarin, Java etc.) .




- Help and contribute to the architecture and design of the entire GIS solution and the key interfaces with sufficient research so that it adheres to the best practices in the industry.
- Develop GIS based POCs to showcase ideas, present demos to the business users.
- Should be able to design the forms, workflows and portlets, and integration with the required systems.
- Should have expertise in development of solutions in the mobile platform.
- Should be able to perform issue resolutions during support /Post-Go Live phase.
- Should be able to assist the Testing team with the functional areas to be tested.
- The candidate must be a team player and is also expected to help the project team with any functional and technical issues that may arise during the course of the project.
- Participate in project review meetings (internal and with the client)
- Should be open to learning any new technologies in the GIS space if required.

Preferred candidate profile

- 6-12 years of total IT industry experience, with at least 6 years in implementing GIS ESRI based Solutions.
- Programming experience in Java Script, Type Script is required.
- Knowledge in Electric/Gas Transmission and Distribution domain
- Good interpersonal communication and analytical ability
- Strong soft skills required
- Ready to travel to client locations as needed
- Proficiency in writing Stored Procedures, Functions in PL/SQL for Oracle
- Databases - Oracle Spatial
- Experience in ETL tool like FME
