Position Overview:
We invite applications for Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, and Senior Residents in General Surgery.
The role involves comprehensive patient care, surgical procedures, academic teaching, clinical supervision, resident and undergraduate training, research activities, and participation in departmental and institutional academic programs.
Candidates with strong clinical skills, surgical expertise, teaching aptitude,
and an interest in academic medicine are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage OPD, IPD, emergency, and surgical cases.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and formulate appropriate treatment plans for surgical patients.
- Perform and supervise major and minor surgical procedures according to clinical expertise.
- Perform and supervise laparoscopic, minimally invasive, and conventional open surgical procedures.
- Provide comprehensive pre-operative, operative, and post-operative patient care.
- Manage emergency surgical conditions and participate in trauma and critical surgical care.
- Train and guide MBBS students, interns, and postgraduate residents.
- Conduct lectures, bedside teaching, seminars, case discussions, journal clubs, and clinical demonstrations.
- Provide appropriate Operation Theatre exposure and surgical training to students and residents.
- Participate in departmental academic meetings, CMEs, workshops, conferences, and continuing medical education programs.
- Participate in research projects, publications, presentations, and academic activities.
- Supervise patient care in wards, emergency areas, operation theatres, and critical-care units.
- Work closely with specialists from other departments for the management of complex and multidisciplinary cases.
- Maintain appropriate clinical records, documentation, and patient-care standards.
- Follow applicable NMC guidelines, institutional policies, quality standards, and patient-safety protocols.
- Contribute to the development of the Department of General Surgery and the overall academic environment of the institution.
Eligibility:
Qualification:
- MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
- MS/DNB in General Surgery from a recognized institution for faculty positions.
- Postgraduate qualification in General Surgery for Senior Resident positions.
Experience:
- Experience as per applicable NMC norms for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor positions.
- Postgraduate candidates fulfilling the applicable eligibility criteria may be considered for Senior Resident positions.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong expertise in General Surgery.
- Valuable operative and clinical decision-making skills.
- Experience in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery will be preferred.
- Experience in emergency and trauma surgery will be an advantage.
- Good patient-management and communication skills.
- Strong teaching and mentoring aptitude.
- Interest in medical education, research, publications, and academic activities.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary teaching-hospital setting.
