JOB SUMMARY

As the Head of Raw Material Procurement, you will be responsible for the appropriate strategy development, global sourcing and procurement of raw materials required for EV battery manufacturing to meet the strategic objectives of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop and execute a strategic sourcing plan for procurement, in alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
- Driving local & global sourcing strategies to secure long term supplies of Raw material at an industry best prices and contracts terms.
- Managing Supplier relationship. Accountable for the negotiations of supplier contracts and commercial terms & conditions.
- Create supplier specific supply resilience programs to ensure a long term supply security.
- Identify, manage and mitigate supplier and component risks.
- Lead the development of commodity pricing trends through various levers like market trends and work with pricing team to develop business forecasts.
- Use various levers like multisource to drive competition and supply resilience.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure access to a diverse and high-quality product portfolio
- Collaborate with product development to identify and evaluate new products, considering factors such as market demand, customer preferences, and profitability.
- Create and maintain long term commodity strategies based on product requirements and technology roadmaps.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- In partnership with supply chain initiate performance related corrective actions with supply base when necessary




- Develop and manage the procurement demand plan and budget, ensuring cost-effective purchasing practices.
- Analyse pricing trends, market conditions, and supplier costs to optimise procurement strategies and achieve cost savings.
- Provide thought leadership to both procurement and stakeholder organisations to further develop the impact and value of the team.
- Develop a high performing team and positively contribute to the culture of the function enabling succession from within.
- Build strong relationships to senior stakeholders in R&D;, Product category, Operations and Finance as a basis for setting the right strategic directions for the procurement area.
- Accountable for delivering both cost reduction and budget efficiency in line with functional targets.
- Build and maintain strong collaboration with the Engineering teams to drive best cost/performance decisions in early stages of the product development.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

- 15 years plus experience in senior procurement leadership
- Strong and convincing communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to zoom in and out of the detail of multiple projects and identify areas of focus and priority.
- Demonstrates an entrepreneurial edge who can adapt to change and use initiative.
- Solid analytical and data skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong execution skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship building and proven Cross-functional leadership skills.

Desired:

- Demonstrated success in developing and executing procurement strategies that drive cost savings

and operational efficiency
- Knowledge of relevant procurement regulations, compliance requirements, and ethical practices
- Financial acumen to analyse costs, budgets, and financial implications of procurement decisions

Role Specific Qualifications/Certifications
