Role Description The Furniture Designer will design and develop soft furniture pieces that align with Studio Saddles’ aesthetic, comfort standards, and material capabilities. This full-time, on-site role is based in Bengaluru and involves collaborating with interior and product teams to create concepts, sketches, technical drawings, and prototypes. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching trends and materials, translating client requirements into functional designs, and refining products based on feedback from production and quality teams.

The Furniture

Designer will work closely with carpenters and upholsterers to ensure technical feasibility, efficient manufacturing,



and consistency with brand guidelines. The role also includes preparing design documentation, maintaining a library of materials and finishes, and supporting showroom or client presentations when needed.

Qualifications

- Solid skills in Furniture Design and Furniture development, with the ability to balance aesthetics, ergonomics, and durability.
- Hands-on understanding of Carpentry and construction methods to ensure designs are feasible and manufacturable.
- Experience in Interior Design, focusing on integrating furniture into cohesive residential or commercial spaces.
- Proficiency in Product Design principles, including user-centered design, materials selection, and prototyping.
- Ability to use design and visualization tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, or similar CAD software).
- Knowledge of upholstery materials, leather and faux leather properties, foam densities, and fabric behavior.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and production staff.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and the ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
- Formal education in Industrial Design, Furniture Design, Interior Design, Product Design, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in furniture or upholstery-focused environments is an advantage.
