About Barabari The Barabari Collective is a social impact organization that exists to build universal access to economic mobility for technical graduates from underserved communities in India. We are supported by The Circle India, Nudge Institute, NSRCEL IIM B, SVP India, ACT Grants, TiE Hyderabad, Godrej Foundation and UnLtd India.

Working at the intersection of Government partnerships, Tech industry talent needs, and AI-based EdTech, we are on a mission to get 10,000 graduates from underserved communities into high-growth tech, data and design jobs.

Our Tech Collective follows a forward-deployed team model, where a senior team member works closely with an organisation as the primary point of contact, supported by a team of associates. Rather than providing individual freelancers for isolated tasks, the team works as an extension of the organisation and takes ownership of its requirements end-to-end.

As we expand this model across technology, design, data, marketing and other domains, we’re looking for Forward Deployed Practitioners who can work closely with organisations, understand their needs, shape projects

What you'll do

- Sit with clients to understand their business model, workflows, challenges and needs.
- Work comfortably with non-technical stakeholders and ask the right questions to understand what actually needs to be built or done.
- Translate conversations into project briefs, proposals, scopes or PRDs.
- Manage communication, timelines, deliverables and feedback through the project.
- Help associates understand the client context and provide mentorship and guidance where needed.
- Build robust relationships with clients and associates,



leading with empathy and understanding what is genuinely useful for the organisation.

What we're looking for

- 3+ years of relevant experience — including full-time roles, internships, freelance work, or a combination.
- Experience working directly with clients, teams, organisations or external stakeholders.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and incomplete briefs and figuring out what needs to happen next.
- Able to communicate effectively with non-technical people and translate their needs into actionable requirements.
- Comfortable working in a forward-deployed model and taking ownership of client requirements end-to-end.
- Strong ownership, problem-solving and relationship-building skills.
- An understanding of the scrappy, resource-constrained nature of the early stage orgs, MSMES
- Experience mentoring, managing associates or coordinating teams is a strong plus.

You don’t need to know every technology or domain upfront. What matters is your ability to understand the problem, figure out what needs to be done, learn what’s needed along the way, and work with the associates to execute the solution.
