Position Overview:

We invite applications for Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, and Senior Residents in Forensic Medicine & Toxicology.

The role involves teaching Forensic Medicine & Toxicology to MBBS students, conducting practical and demonstration sessions, providing medico-legal training, mentoring students, participating in academic activities, and contributing to research and departmental development.

Candidates with strong academic credentials, teaching aptitude, medico-legal knowledge, and an interest in medical education and research are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct lectures and teaching sessions in Forensic Medicine & Toxicology for MBBS students.
- Conduct practical classes, demonstrations, tutorials, seminars, and case-based learning sessions.
- Teach students about medico-legal principles, forensic pathology, forensic toxicology,



medical jurisprudence, and legal aspects of medical practice.
- Provide training in the identification, documentation, and interpretation of medico-legal cases.
- Guide students in the examination and documentation of injuries, poisoning, sexual offences, and other relevant medico-legal conditions.
- Teach principles of death investigation, cause and manner of death, post-mortem examination, and identification.
- Conduct practical sessions covering forensic anthropology, forensic identification, injury interpretation, toxicology, and medico-legal documentation.
- Provide appropriate academic exposure to autopsy procedures and post-mortem examination as per applicable regulations and institutional protocols.
- Train students in the preparation and interpretation of medico-legal reports.
- Teach the legal and ethical responsibilities of medical professionals, including relevant laws and regulations applicable to medical practice.
- Guide and mentor undergraduate medical students in theoretical and practical aspects of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology.
- Conduct tutorials, seminars, journal clubs, case discussions, and other academic activities.
- Participate in MBBS curriculum planning, academic schedules, and departmental teaching programs.
- Conduct internal assessments, practical examinations, viva-voce, and other academic evaluations as assigned.
- Participate in academic discussions involving poisoning, toxicology, injury patterns, sudden death, and medico-legal cases.
- Coordinate with hospital departments and appropriate statutory/legal authorities in medico-legal matters, wherever applicable.
- Participate in research projects, publications, presentations, and academic collaborations.
- Encourage and guide students in research-oriented academic activities.
- Participate in departmental meetings,



CME programs, workshops, conferences, seminars, and other academic activities.
- Maintain appropriate academic, medico-legal, laboratory, and departmental records.
- Ensure appropriate handling, documentation, preservation, and storage of medico-legal specimens and materials as per institutional protocols.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the Forensic Medicine & Toxicology Department and its teaching methodologies.
- Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical departments for integrated medical education.
- Ensure compliance with applicable NMC guidelines, university regulations, medico-legal requirements, institutional policies, ethical standards, and academic protocols.

Eligibility:

Qualification:

- MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
- MD/DNB in Forensic Medicine & Toxicology from a recognized institution for faculty positions.
- Postgraduate qualification in Forensic Medicine & Toxicology for Senior Resident positions, as applicable.

Experience:

- Experience as per applicable NMC norms for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor positions.
- Postgraduate candidates fulfilling the applicable eligibility criteria may be considered for Senior Resident positions.

Preferred Skills:

- Solid knowledge of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology.
- Good teaching, presentation, communication, and mentoring skills.
- Experience in undergraduate medical teaching.
- Knowledge of forensic pathology, medical jurisprudence, medico-legal procedures, and forensic toxicology.
- Understanding of injury documentation, death investigation, post-mortem procedures, and medico-legal reporting.
- Knowledge of commonly encountered poisoning and toxicological conditions.
- Good academic and medico-legal documentation skills.
- Interest in medical education, forensic research, publications, and academic activities.
- Ability to work effectively with clinical departments and relevant medico-legal authorities.
- Strong commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, accuracy, and medico-legal standards.
