About the Role
Lead the design of life-safety systems that protect people and assets at scale. We are looking for a seasoned fire protection engineer ready to step into a senior leadership role.
You will own the end-to-end design of fire detection, suppression, and F&G; systems for complex industrial and commercial projects working to Indian and international standards including NBC, IS, OISD, NFPA, FM, UL, and GB. If you enjoy solving high-stakes engineering problems, mentoring teams, and being the go-to technical authority on projects, this role is built for you.
Responsibilities
· System Design & Review: Design and review complete firefighting systems for industrial and commercial clients. Perform hydraulic calculations using PipeNet and FHC Canute. Prepare AutoCAD layouts, BOQ/BOM, technical specifications, and RFQs.
· F&G; Mapping & Detection: Carry out F&G; mapping on Detect3D and Effigy-Kenexis. Design fire and gas detection systems for high-risk environments across oil & gas, manufacturing, and commercial sectors.
· Technical Reports & Audits: Prepare Design Basis Reports, gap analysis, and audit reports aligned with NBC, NFPA, IS, OISD, FM, and UL standards. Write detailed technical reports based on design analysis and findings.
· Team Leadership: Serve as the technical escalation point for your team. Mentor junior engineers, lead design review meetings, and coordinate across engineering disciplines to ensure timely project delivery.
· Client Engagement: Participate in scope discussions and design review meetings directly with clients.
Manage design and estimation phases from initial concept to final proposal.
· Optimisation & Innovation: Identify design gaps and propose practical solutions. Optimise fire protection designs for efficiency, reliability, and cost — tailored to each project's unique risk profile.
Requirements
· B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Fire Engineering.
· 7–10 years of experience in fire protection system design across industrial and commercial sectors.
· Hands-on experience with PipeNet, FHC Canute, Detect3D, or Effigy-Kenexis.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD for fire protection layouts.
· Deep working knowledge of NBC, NFPA, IS, OISD, FM, and UL standards.
· Experience designing fire suppression systems and F&G; detection systems.
· Ability to lead design reviews and manage multi-disciplinary teams.
· Robust report writing and client communication skills.
· Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
· Professional certification in fire protection engineering (e.g., CFPS or equivalent).
· Exposure to NFPA (Global), BS (European), GB (Chinese) standards for global project environments.
· Experience in greenfield project design for oil & gas or heavy industry.
· Familiarity with FM Global data sheets and approval processes.
Why This Role
- You will work on technically demanding projects across industrial, oil & gas, and commercial sectors with direct impact on how fire safety systems are designed and delivered. As a senior manager, you will shape engineering standards within the team and grow your career on projects that genuinely matter.
