Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team building and operating modern web applications and enterprise platforms.

The role combines people leadership, delivery ownership, stakeholder management and working along with product management team in alignment with product roadmap. The Engineering Manager will work closely with Product, business teams, and leadership to identify platform gaps, prioritize high-value features, and ensure engineering efforts align with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers.
- Own engineering delivery, release management, quality, and technical outcomes.
- Conduct one-on-ones, performance reviews, career development, and team planning.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and building high-performing teams.
- Establish clear ownership, accountability, and engineering standards.
- Manage team capacity, priorities, and delivery commitments.

Business & Product Collaboration

- Partner with business teams, Product, Operations, and leadership to understand goals, user needs, and operational challenges.
- Identify gaps and improvement opportunities in the platform.
- Prioritize features and engineering initiatives based on business value, customer impact, effort, and risk.
- Contribute to product and platform roadmaps.
- Translate business requirements into clear engineering priorities and delivery plans.
- Provide stakeholders with visibility into progress, risks, dependencies, and resource needs.




- Gather feedback after releases and use it to drive continuous platform improvement.

Delivery & Technical Leadership

- Drive engineering planning, estimation, prioritization, and execution.
- Coordinate delivery across Engineering, Product, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate architecture/system design and major technical reviews.
- Review critical implementation decisions and provide technical guidance to engineers in consultation with technology leaders.
- Balance feature development with reliability, security, performance, and technical debt.
- Support teams in resolving complex production and performance issues.

Application & Cloud Engineering

- Guide teams in delivering applications using MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Ensure good practices around APIs, integrations, database design, application security, and performance.
- Provide direction for applications deployed on AWS.
- Work with DevOps teams on CI/CD, infrastructure automation, scalability, security, and cost optimization.
- Ensure appropriate monitoring, logging, backup, recovery, and production support practices are in place.

Quality & Operations

- Promote automated unit, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.
- Establish reliable development, release,



and deployment practices.
- Ensure effective monitoring, alerting, and production support.
- Participate in major incidents and ensure root-cause analysis and corrective actions are completed.
- Drive continuous improvements in reliability, engineering productivity, and operational processes.

Required Experience

- 8+ years of software engineering experience with 2 - 3+ years in an engineering leadership or management role.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Strong experience building and operating production-grade web applications.
- Prior working knowledge of Node.js, React, Express.js, MongoDB, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Prior experience with REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Prior experience with AWS, Docker, CI/CD, and cloud deployment practices.
- Understanding of application security, databases, scalability, monitoring, and production operations.
- Experience working closely with Product, business stakeholders, and senior leadership.
- Robust communication, prioritization, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with AWS services such as EKS, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, S3, RDS, SQS/SNS, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automated testing.
- Experience building SaaS or enterprise platforms.
- Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with Generative AI, LLM APIs, AI agents, MCP, Codex, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot is an added advantage.
