About TFE

TFE manufactures 11kV CTPT (Current Transformer / Potential Transformer) metering units, including oil-cooled and resin-cast CTs and PTs, serving contractors, panel builders, OEMs, and DISCOM/RDSS channels.

Role Summary

We are hiring a Testing Engineer to own our testing department and take responsibility for product quality across 11kV CTPT metering units and resin-cast CTs and PTs. The role's core mandate is to maintain quality through manufacturing and dispatch, ensuring every unit meets required standards — supported by routine testing, failure diagnosis, and test documentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain product quality through manufacturing and before dispatch, ensuring all units meet required standards
- Own end-to-end testing operations for 11kV CTPT metering units, including both oil-cooled and resin-cast CTs and PTs
- Perform routine testing of CTs and PTs (ratio error, phase angle/displacement, polarity, insulation resistance, HV withstand) on our automatic CT/VT test set
- Test units across rated accuracy classes (including 0.2S) and burden ratings at standard test points (1%, 5%, 20%,



100%, 120%)
- Diagnose ratio/phase-angle deviations and work with production to identify root causes
- Maintain test records and generate test certificates/reports for dispatch and customer submission
- Operate and maintain test equipment; coordinate periodic calibration
- Support type testing at NABL-accredited labs when required
- Conduct routine oil quality checks (BDV, moisture) for oil-cooled units
- Support testing of new product variants across both oil-cooled and resin-cast lines
- Establish and formalize test procedures, SOPs, and data logging processes for the department

Requirement

- Diploma or BE in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years' experience testing/QC of instrument transformers (CT/PT) or similar electrical equipment
- Solid understanding of CT/PT working principles, accuracy classes, and ratio/phase angle error concepts
- Working proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for test data logging
- Based in, or able to commute to, Kalher, Thane

Preferred

- Hands-on experience with automatic CT/VT test sets
- Familiarity with IEC 61869 / IS 2705 / IS 3156
- Exposure to DISCOM/RDSS testing requirements or NABL lab processes
