Job Title

BYD Electric Vehicle Technicians

Overview / Job Purpose

We are looking for skilled Electric Vehicle Technicians to join our BYD Aftersales team in Qatar. The role is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing electric and hybrid vehicles while following manufacturer standards, safety procedures, and workshop quality requirements.

Priority will be given to candidates with hands-on experience in Electric Vehicles (EV) and Hybrid vehicles. However, we also welcome certified Auto Electrical Technicians with strong automotive electrical and diagnostic skills who are interested in developing their expertise in EV technology.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
- Diagnose electrical and electronic faults using approved diagnostic equipment and software.
- Troubleshoot high-voltage batteries, electric motors, power electronics, charging systems, and vehicle control systems.
- Perform electrical fault tracing using wiring diagrams, diagnostic data, and technical manuals.
- Carry out high-voltage system inspections and repairs in line with EV safety procedures and manufacturer standards.




- Diagnose complex automotive electrical and electronic issues accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct scheduled maintenance, vehicle health checks, and required software-related checks.
- Complete repair orders accurately and document diagnostic findings and repairs performed.
- Follow BYD technical standards, workshop procedures, and safety requirements.
- Work closely with Service Advisors, Workshop Supervisors, and technical support teams to ensure timely and quality repairs.

Qualifications & Experience
- Years of experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as an Automotive Technician, Auto Electrical Technician, EV Technician, or similar role.
- Education: Diploma, ITI, vocational qualification, or equivalent in Automotive Electrical/Electronics, Automotive Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- Industry exposure: Experience in an authorized automotive dealership, OEM workshop, or professional automotive service environment is preferred.
- EV/Hybrid experience: Priority will be given to candidates with hands-on experience in Electric Vehicles, Hybrid vehicles, or Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV).
- Auto Electrical Technicians: Certified Auto Electrical Technicians with robust diagnostic and troubleshooting skills are also encouraged to apply, even without extensive EV experience.
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical/electronic systems, wiring diagrams, sensors, control modules, and fault diagnosis.
- Experience using automotive diagnostic scanners, digital multimeters, electrical testing equipment, and OEM diagnostic tools.
- EV/Hybrid, High-Voltage Safety, Auto Electrical, or manufacturer technical certification is preferred. BYD technical certification is an added advantage.
