DTA Software Engineers help deliver automation solutions that improve Finance Operations performance, productivity, and cost competitiveness. In this role, you will work on diverse automation opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual effort, and improve business outcomes.

The role also offers strong opportunities to build technical expertise, broaden finance process knowledge, and grow your network across Shell.

What is the Role?

As a DTA Software Engineer, you will develop and support automation solutions that improve efficiency and user experience across Finance Operations. You will work with business stakeholders and technical teams to turn requirements into practical solutions using approved DTA technologies and agile ways of working.

- Develop, test, and deploy automation solutions that meet business requirements and quality standards.
- Support the translation of functional requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Follow agile delivery practices, documentation standards, and structured development processes.
- Troubleshoot issues and support stable performance of automation solutions during Hyper care.
- Work with senior developers and stakeholders to apply good design and implementation practices.
- Communicate progress, clarify requirements, and support timely delivery of assigned work.

- Solution delivery: contribute to building automation solutions that are practical and fit for purpose.
- Technical quality: follow coding, testing, and documentation standards for maintainable solutions.
- Stakeholder collaboration: work with business users and technical teams to understand needs and deliver value

What We Need from You?

- We are looking for a hands-on software engineer with experience in automation or digital solutions, ideally in a finance or operations environment. You should be comfortable translating business needs into practical solutions and working closely with stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
- Around 3 to 6 years of experience in software engineering, automation, or digital solution development.
- Working knowledge of continuous improvement and problem-solving approaches, including root cause analysis.




- Positive communication and stakeholder engagement skills to understand requirements and support delivery.
- Hands-on experience with one or more relevant technologies such as Power Apps, Power Automate, PADA, SQL, SharePoint Online, or reporting solutions.
- Experience working across the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Relevant technical certifications are an advantage.
