About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Domain Architect – Cloud to lead the architecture, design, and governance of secure, scalable, resilient, and high-performing cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience across cloud architecture and enterprise infrastructure, with strong expertise in cloud landing zones, networking, IAM, security, containers, resilience, backup & disaster recovery, observability, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

This role requires someone who can operate at an architecture and governance level, translate business and technology requirements into robust cloud architectures, and produce high-quality HLD and LLD designs.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, security, application, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to establish scalable cloud standards and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and governance principles.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and maintain enterprise cloud architecture and reference architectures aligned with business and technology objectives.
- Design and govern secure, scalable, highly available, and resilient cloud platforms and environments.
- Design and implement enterprise cloud landing zones, including account/subscription structures, networking, security, governance, and operational controls.
- Develop and review High-Level Designs (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD) for cloud infrastructure and platforms.
- Define cloud networking architecture, including VPC/VNet design, segmentation, routing, connectivity, load balancing, and hybrid connectivity.
- Establish and govern Identity and Access Management (IAM) architectures, including authentication, authorization, privileged access, and least-privilege principles.
- Define cloud security architecture in collaboration with cybersecurity teams, ensuring appropriate security controls and compliance requirements are incorporated.
- Architect and govern container platforms, including Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
- Design solutions for high availability, resilience, fault tolerance, backup, and disaster recovery (DR).




- Define and implement cloud observability strategies covering monitoring, logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and operational visibility.
- Establish Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards and practices using technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent tools.
- Develop cloud architecture standards, patterns, principles, and reusable reference designs.
- Evaluate existing cloud environments and identify opportunities for modernization, optimization, scalability, and improved resilience.
- Review proposed cloud solutions and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles and standards.
- Provide technical guidance and architectural direction to cloud engineering and infrastructure teams.
- Identify architecture risks, dependencies, technical constraints, and opportunities, and provide appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with application, data, security, networking, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure end-to-end architectural alignment.
- Support technology evaluations and provide recommendations on cloud services, platforms, and architectural approaches.
- Contribute to architecture governance, technical standards, design reviews, and technology decision-making.

Required Skills & Experience

- 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure architecture, or a closely related field.
- Strong hands-on and architectural experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong experience designing and governing cloud landing zones.
- Deep understanding of cloud networking and hybrid connectivity.
- Strong knowledge of IAM, cloud security, identity, access controls, and security architecture.
- Experience designing and governing container platforms, preferably Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of high availability, resilience, fault tolerance, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Experience designing enterprise observability and monitoring solutions.




- Robust experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation.
- Proven experience producing and reviewing HLD and LLD architecture documents.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, standards, patterns, and governance.
- Experience identifying and managing architecture risks, technical dependencies, and non-functional requirements.
- Strong understanding of scalability, performance, availability, security, and operational requirements.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in large-scale enterprise or government environments.
- Cloud architecture certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or equivalent.
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms.
- Experience with Terraform or other enterprise IaC frameworks.
- Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
- Knowledge of cloud security and compliance frameworks.
- Experience establishing enterprise cloud standards, reference architectures, and governance frameworks.
- Experience leading architecture reviews and technical design governance.

Important This is an onsite contractor position in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Candidates must be willing and available to work onsite in Abu Dhabi.

This role is intended for candidates with genuine Cloud Architecture and enterprise design/governance experience, rather than candidates whose experience is limited primarily to cloud administration or cloud engineering.
