Role Overview
We are looking for a DPA & DVA Engineer to support ATP products using virtual build and dimensional variation simulation to assess assembly feasibility, dimensional variation, fit, function and appearance before physical builds.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Digital Pre-Assembly (DPA) feasibility checks for fitment, assembly sequence, accessibility, clearance, interference and installation/removal.
- Conduct static and energetic clash checks for parts, tools, fixtures, fasteners and the surrounding vehicle environment.
- Perform virtual ergonomic checks covering operator reach, hand clearance, line of sight, posture, tool accessibility and assembly/service feasibility.
- Interpret GD&T; per ASME Y14.5 and review datum schemes; identify Critical-to-Function (CTF) and Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) characteristics.
- Perform dimensional stack-up and Monte Carlo/statistical variation analysis to predict gap, flushness and fit outcomes.
- Validate simulation predictions against CMM, optical and laser scanning data and refine variation models.
- Identify high-risk dimensional conditions and recommend design/process changes to reduce variation and improve fit and finish.
- Support DFMEA, DVP&R;, PPAP, virtual build and launch readiness reviews; prepare issue reports and track issues through closure. <
