Role & responsibilities
- Manage and optimise electroplating processes on the Diamond Wire manufacturing line to achieve uniform and defect-free coatings.
- Monitor and control chemical bath parameters such as pH, temperature, concentration, and other critical process parameters in coordination with the laboratory team.
- Troubleshoot plating defects, equipment malfunctions, and chemical imbalances to ensure smooth and stable production.
- Monitor process performance and implement improvements to enhance product quality, process efficiency, and production stability.
- Establish and follow quality control protocols using tools such as Cpk, SPC, and FMEA to ensure products meet defined quality and customer standards.
- Participate in the setup, calibration, and maintenance of plating lines, rectifiers, filtration systems, and related process equipment.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction through optimisation of chemical consumption, reduction of scrap, and effective utilisation of precious metals.
- Ensure adherence to defined process parameters, SOPs, quality standards, and safety requirements on the shop floor.
- Work closely with production operators and laboratory personnel for effective process control and timely resolution of process-related issues.
- Monitor day-to-day shop floor activities and ensure stable and efficient operation of the electroplating process.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimisation, quality improvement, waste reduction, and operational efficiency.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrochemical Engineering.
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in shop floor management, preferably in electroplating/process manufacturing environments.
- Strong hands-on experience in electroplating process management and optimization.
- Good understanding of chemical bath management, including pH, temperature, and concentration control.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve plating defects, chemical imbalances, and equipment-related issues.
- Knowledge of quality tools such as Cpk, SPC, and FMEA will be preferred.
- Exposure to plating lines, rectifiers, filtration systems, and related equipment.
- Understanding of process quality, waste reduction, chemical consumption optimisation, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work closely with production operators and laboratory personnel.
- Good communication, collaboration, and shop floor management skills.
