About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux DevOps Engineer to join our team at Persistent Systems. This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing our Linux infrastructure, ensuring its security, stability, and scalability. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in Linux administration combined with extensive experience in DevOps automation practices.

You will be responsible for managing enterprise Linux environments, automating infrastructure deployment, and implementing best practices for security and performance. Your expertise will support our mission to deliver reliable, secure, and efficient services to our clients, leveraging modern automation tools and cloud integrations. Qualifications The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 6+ years of experience in Linux administration and DevOps engineering. Proven expertise in managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Rocky Linux, or similar Linux distributions is essential. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Shell scripting, and Python.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems like Git, and infrastructure deployment automation is required. Strong troubleshooting skills across various Linux components, including kernel, networking,



storage, and hardware, are necessary. Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially AWS services such as EC2, CloudWatch, S3, and EBS, is highly desirable.

Excellent communication skills, ownership, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams are vital. Candidates should also have a solid understanding of security hardening practices, vulnerability management, and monitoring tools to ensure optimal system performance and security.

Responsibilities The Linux DevOps Engineer will be responsible for a broad range of activities, including:

- Administering, monitoring, and troubleshooting enterprise-level Linux infrastructure across production environments to ensure high availability and performance.
- Performing server provisioning, patching, upgrades, and security hardening to protect against vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security standards.
- Designing and implementing golden image pipelines using tools such as Packer, Kickstart, and PXE, incorporating security best practices.
- Building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible, Terraform, and version-controlled workflows to automate infrastructure deployment and management.
- Developing, managing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar tools to streamline software delivery processes.
- Automating routine tasks such as provisioning, configuration deployment, patching, decommissioning, compliance checks, and validation activities.
- Troubleshooting complex issues related to NFS, kernel, SSH, networking, storage, server hardware, and system performance bottlenecks.
- Implementing comprehensive monitoring, observability, and synthetic monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues before impacting business operations.




- Collaborating with development, networking, security, and IT teams to facilitate application deployments and manage the entire infrastructure lifecycle.
- Creating and maintaining detailed documentation, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and root cause analysis reports to support operational excellence and knowledge sharing.
