Leather Design & Merchandising Intern

We’re launching a new leather brand and are looking for a design intern to be part of building it from the ground up.

We’re looking for students or recent graduates from NIFT, FDDI and other design institutes who are interested in leather, accessories and product design.

You’ll work directly with the Senior Designer & Founder, taking ideas from:

Research → Sketch → Concept → Prototype → Product

You’ll get to work with leather at its source through our 35+ year-old tannery, explore materials and construction, develop products, and see selected concepts move into production.

Role Description The Design and Merchandising Intern will support the design and product development team in creating leather goods collections and visual assets for garments, goods, and accessories. This full-time hybrid role is based in Sonipat, with some flexibility for work from home, and involves coordinating with production teams to translate design concepts into manufacturable products. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with mood boards, trend research, material and color selection, and CAD-based design layouts for merchandising presentations.

The intern will contribute to graphics and packaging concepts, organize design files and samples, and help prepare product catalogs and marketing materials. The role also involves maintaining documentation, supporting quality reviews from a design perspective, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure designs align with sustainability and brand guidelines.

Qualifications

- Strong visual and creative skills in Graphic Design and Graphics relevant to product, packaging, and marketing materials.
- Ability to conduct structured Research on fashion trends, materials, consumer preferences, and competitor products.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for product layouts, technical drawings, and merchandising presentations.




- Understanding of design principles related to product form, function, and space; background or exposure to Architecture or industrial/fashion design is beneficial.
- Pursuing or having completed a degree/diploma in design, fashion, architecture, or a related field.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Comfort working in a hybrid setup with in office collaboration in Sonipat and remote work as required.
- Interest in sustainable and ethical manufacturing practices; prior exposure to leather or fashion accessories is an advantage.

- Strong sketching skills

- Interest in fashion, accessories or product design
- Curiosity about materials and how things are made
- Willingness to learn and experiment

Leather experience is not required.
