Summary – Data Scientist (Generative AI)

The role sits within the Wholesale Bank’s Data & Analytics team, responsible for integrating data sources, building data models, and developing advanced machine learning and Generative AI solutions. The position focuses on designing scalable AI products, deploying generative models, and enabling business squads with actionable insights.

The Data Scientist (GenAI) is expected to work across the full ML lifecycle—data ingestion, preprocessing, feature engineering, model development, deployment, and continuous optimization—while leveraging modern GenAI techniques such as LLMs, RAG, agentic frameworks, and chain‑of‑thought prompting. The role requires robust Python expertise, hands‑on experience with cloud platforms, and the ability to build interactive data apps for stakeholders.

Key Highlights

- Develop and deploy Generative AI models (LLMs, SLMs, transformers, diffusion models).
- Implement RAG pipelines, agentic frameworks, and chain‑of‑thought reasoning.
- Build scalable ML pipelines for ingestion, preprocessing, annotation, and augmentation.
- Use Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn, pandas,



NumPy for model development.
- Deploy solutions using AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes.
- Create Streamlit‑based data applications.
- Perform prompt engineering, model fine‑tuning, RLHF, and model alignment.
- Conduct research on emerging GenAI techniques and apply them to business problems.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver production‑ready AI solutions.

Required Experience

- 4+ years total experience, including 2+ years as an AI/ML engineer focused on generative models.
- Hands‑on with GANs, VAEs, transformers (GPT‑3/4, BERT, DALL·E).
- Strong Python programming and data processing skills.
- Experience in document extraction, feature engineering, and ML pipelines.
- Expertise in prompt engineering, chain‑of‑thought, and AI agents.
- Ability to communicate complex AI concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.

Good to Have

- Experience in banking or financial services.
- Familiarity with cloud ML platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience with OpenAI or similar LLM ecosystems.
- Relevant certifications in AI/ML/Data Science.
