About the Job

Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP is inviting applications for the position of Consultant – Data Privacy in Mumbai. The Consultant will work as part of Deloitte’s Cyber Team and support clients on data protection, privacy compliance, risk assessments, data governance and privacy frameworks.

Eligibility

Candidates applying for the Consultant – Data Privacy position should have:

- At least 2+ years of experience in data protection or privacy compliance.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Technology or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of data protection laws and regulations, particularly the Personal Data Protection Bill in India.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- CIPT, CIPM, CIPPE or related certifications are preferred.

Roles and Responsibilities

Client and Team Collaboration: Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal teams and clients.





Data Protection Policies:

Develop data protection policies and procedures in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations.

Privacy Risk Assessments:

Conduct assessments to identify potential data privacy and protection risks and develop mitigation strategies based on client requirements.

Compliance Monitoring:

Monitor and evaluate data processing activities to ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws and company policies.

Privacy Assessments and Governance:

Provide guidance and support to clients on Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), risk assessments, data governance, application privacy impact assessments and related matters.

Privacy and Security Frameworks:

Design and develop security and privacy frameworks for clients.

Privacy Controls:

Design or redesign processes and privacy controls to support privacy framework development.

The position is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
