XCentium is seeking a Data Engineer with hands-on experience in Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks to join our data practice. In this role, you will build and maintain data pipelines and lakehouse components for our clients, working within an established Medallion Architecture framework under the guidance of senior engineers and architects.

You will implement ingestion, transformation, and data quality logic across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers, following architectural patterns defined by the team. You'll contribute to proof-of-concepts and production pipelines, growing your expertise in modern lakehouse engineering.





Core Qualifications

- 4+ years in data engineering or related data platform roles
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Factory, notebooks) and/or Databricks (Workflows, notebooks)
- Working knowledge of Delta Lake format
- Experience writing PySpark for data transformation
- Exposure to Power BI or other BI tools consuming curated data

Medallion Architecture

- Ability to implement Bronze/Silver/Gold layer logic following established patterns
- Experience with basic data quality checks and validation
- Familiarity with CDC (Change Data Capture) concepts

Data Engineering & Integration

- Proficiency with PySpark within Fabric or Databricks notebooks
- Experience building ingestion pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, or Databricks Autoloader
- Exposure to source systems such as Salesforce, Oracle Service Cloud, or similar
- Basic understanding of batch vs. real-time ingestion concepts

Collaboration Skills

- Comfortable working in an agile, delivery-focused consulting environment
- Ability to take direction from senior engineers/architects and execute reliably
- Good communication skills for cross-functional collaboration

Nice to Have

- Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Engineer, or Databricks certification
- Exposure to Microsoft Purview, Unity Catalog, or MDM platforms (e.g., Profisee)
- Familiarity with CI/CD for data pipelines
