About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer(4-8) to join their growing India-based Data Engineering pod, working closely with the UK Data team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in building scalable data platforms, improving engineering reliability, implementing CI/CD best practices, and enabling advanced analytics and AI/ML initiatives. This role requires strong technical expertise, ownership mindset, and the ability to mentor junior engineers within a collaborative international environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Build, optimize, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL data pipelines
- Work extensively with Snowflake, dbt, SQL, and Python
- Implement CI/CD best practices for up-to-date data engineering workflows
- Improve monitoring, alerting, reliability, and data quality processes
- Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, BI teams, and stakeholders
- Support data modelling and data architecture initiatives
- Mentor and guide junior engineers within the India pod
- Contribute towards MLOps foundations and production deployment workflows
- Work in close coordination with UK-based engineering teams

Required Skills

- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering
- Strong expertise in SQL and Python
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake
- Strong working experience with dbt
- Experience building production-grade data pipelines




- Good understanding of data modelling concepts (3NF, Kimball, etc.)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with cloud-based modern data platforms
- Ability to work independently with strong ownership mindset

Nice-to-Have Skills

- Exposure to MLOps concepts and workflows
- Experience with orchestration tools
- Experience supporting BI/Analytics teams
- Experience working in Agile/product-based environments
- Previous mentoring or technical leadership experience
