Role Description The Cyber Security Architect role is a full-time remote position responsible for designing, enhancing, and overseeing secure architectures across applications, networks, and enterprise systems. This role involves assessing existing environments, identifying vulnerabilities, and defining security controls and guidelines that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

The Cyber Security

Architect collaborates with engineering, operations, and leadership teams to integrate security into solution design, development lifecycles, and digital transformation initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating architecture diagrams and patterns, reviewing technical designs for security risks,



leading threat modeling and risk assessments, and guiding implementation of security tools and configurations. The role also includes developing documentation, playbooks, and standards, mentoring technical teams on security best practices, and staying current with emerging threats and technologies.

Qualifications

- Ability to design and document comprehensive Security Architecture Design, including enterprise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Strong Application Security skills, such as secure SDLC practices, threat modeling, code review guidance, and integration of security controls into software development.
- Deep understanding of Cybersecurity principles, frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), risk management, and security governance.
- Hands-on experience with Network Security, including firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, intrusion detection/prevention, and secure communications design.
- Proficiency in security assessment methodologies and tools, and the ability to translate technical risks into actionable recommendations.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting architecture decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or SABSA/TOGAF (or progress toward them) are highly beneficial.
