Role & responsibilities
- Handle end-to-end import and export customs clearance activities.
- Prepare, verify, and submit customs documentation accurately and on time.
- Handle Bill of Entry (BOE), Shipping Bill, IGM/EGM, invoices, packing lists, and supporting documents.
- Coordinate with Customs officials, Customs Brokers, ports, terminals, CFS/ICD, shipping lines, airlines, and other authorities.
- Coordinate customs examination, assessment, queries, and shipment release.
- Follow up on duty assessment and ensure timely payment of applicable customs duties.
- Monitor shipment status and ensure timely clearance and delivery.
- Resolve customs-related queries, objections, documentation discrepancies, and examination issues.
- Coordinate with clients to obtain required documents, declarations, licenses, certificates, and other information.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Customs regulations and government requirements.
- Maintain proper records of customs documents and clearance activities.
Documentation & Compliance
- Review commercial invoices, packing lists, purchase orders, certificates of origin, insurance documents, and other relevant paperwork.
- Ensure accuracy of HS classification, valuation, quantity, country of origin, and other customs-related details.
- Verify applicable duties, taxes, exemptions, notifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with clients regarding customs queries and additional documentation.
- Ensure proper documentation for restricted, regulated, or special-category cargo.
- Keep updated on changes in customs procedures, notifications, circulars, and regulations.
Coordination
- Coordinate closely with the Sales, Operations, Documentation, Accounts, and Transport teams.
- Provide regular shipment updates to customers.
- Coordinate with transporters for timely movement of cleared cargo.
- Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, CFS/ICD, terminals, and other logistics service providers.
- Escalate delays or compliance issues to management promptly.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelor's degree/diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, Commerce, or a related field.
- 27 years of relevant experience in Customs Clearance / CHA / Freight Forwarding.
- Robust practical knowledge of Indian import/export customs procedures.
- Good knowledge of ICEGATE and customs clearance systems.
- Understanding of HS Codes, customs valuation, duty calculation, and import/export documentation.
- Knowledge of sea and air cargo clearance procedures.
- Strong coordination and follow-up skills.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet clearance deadlines.

- Experienced in handling end-to-end customs clearance.
- Familiar with port, airport, CFS, and ICD operations.
- Comfortable coordinating with Customs officials and other government authorities.
- Strong in documentation and compliance.
