Supervise the day-to-day operations of the CSSD.

Ensure proper collection, cleaning, packing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments.

Monitor sterilization processes using appropriate chemical and biological indicators.

Maintain sterilization records, logs, and documentation.

Ensure proper functioning and routine monitoring of autoclaves and other CSSD equipment.

Follow infection prevention and control protocols.

Ensure correct segregation and handling of contaminated instruments.

Maintain adequate stock of sterile supplies, packing materials, and consumables.

Train and guide CSSD staff on sterilization procedures and safety practices.

Ensure proper storage and handling of sterile packs.

Coordinate with OT, wards, ICU, and other clinical departments regarding sterile supplies.





Monitor staff performance, duty allocation, attendance, and compliance with procedures.

Ensure compliance with NABH and hospital quality standards.

Report equipment breakdowns, sterilization failures, and other incidents to the concerned authority.

Participate in audits, quality improvement activities, and infection-control programs.

Maintain cleanliness, safety, and discipline within the CSSD.
