About ECL Modelling team: Grant Thornton’s ECL Modelling team advises both domestic and international clients on Expected Credit Loss (ECL) models for various types of portfolios, such as retail and wholesale, and different portfolio sizes. This includes ECL model development, model validation, setting up model monitoring framework, and helping achieve efficiency through automation. Through our innovative solutions, we help ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulatory guidance, and adherence to acceptable industry practices.

Job Title: Consultant

Job Location: Dehradun, Indore

Job Responsibilities

- Lead and contribute to the implementation, review, monitoring, and validation of Expected Credit Loss (ECL) models for clients, ensuring compliance with IFRS 9/Ind AS 109 standards and acceptable industry practices.
- Perform detailed reviews of ECL model components such as Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD), and Exposure at Default (EAD), including full model assessments or reviews of individual components.
- Conduct code interpretation and review of models built using R and Python to ensure accuracy and adherence to best practices.
- Prepare comprehensive review reports and conduct impact analyses to assess the effectiveness of models.
- Engage in the development of automated models for ECL, utilizing advanced statistical techniques to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Apply appropriate statistical techniques for the monitoring and validation of each ECL component,



ensuring robustness and reliability in model outcomes.
- Stay informed of the latest industry trends, regulations, and standards set by regulators and standard setters, ensuring that all models adhere to relevant laws and best practices.
- Provide guidance on regulatory compliance related to ECL modeling, helping clients navigate complex regulatory landscapes.
- Work closely with clients in India and internationally, providing exceptional service and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in ECL modeling and provide technical training to clients and internal teams. Contribute to thought leadership initiatives by participating in the development of articles, presentations, and research on ECL-related topics.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of ECL projects and integration of automated solutions.
- This role requires a blend of technical expertise in ECL modeling and statistical techniques, as well as strong client relationship management and business development skills to support growth and deliver value to clients.

Qualifications and experience

- Qualification: A FRM / CFA / Chartered Accountant / Post Graduate in Statistics with a good academic record.

Skill Set

- Strong MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, linked workbooks)



along with working knowledge of other MS Office programs.
- Strong research aptitude with the ability to critically analyse and interpret complex information.
- Good foundational knowledge of IFRS 9 framework.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
