Position Overview:
We invite applications for Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, and Senior Residents in Community Medicine.
The role involves teaching Community Medicine to MBBS students, conducting practical and field-based training, mentoring students, participating in community health programs, supporting research activities, and contributing to the development of the department.
Candidates with strong academic credentials, teaching aptitude, public health knowledge, field experience, and an interest in medical education and research are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct lectures and teaching sessions in Community Medicine and related areas for MBBS students.
- Conduct practical classes, tutorials, demonstrations, seminars, and small-group teaching.
- Teach students about epidemiology,
biostatistics, public health, health administration, environmental health, occupational health, nutrition, and preventive and promotive healthcare.
- Provide training in community diagnosis, health surveys, family studies, and field-based learning.
- Organize and supervise undergraduate field visits and community-based learning activities.
- Guide students in conducting community surveys, health assessments, and family health studies.
- Train MBBS students in the application of epidemiological methods and public health principles.
- Conduct practical sessions in biostatistics, epidemiology, screening, health education, and public health research methodology.
- Conduct tutorials, seminars, case discussions, journal clubs, and other academic activities.
- Participate in MBBS curriculum planning, academic schedules, and departmental teaching programs.
- Conduct internal assessments, practical examinations, viva-voce, and other academic evaluations as assigned.
- Mentor and guide undergraduate medical students in academic and community-oriented projects.
- Participate in community outreach, health awareness, screening, preventive health, and public health programs.
- Coordinate with community health centres, primary healthcare facilities, government health programs, and other field agencies as applicable.
- Participate in research projects involving epidemiology, public health, health systems, disease prevention, community health, and healthcare delivery.
- Encourage and guide students in research-oriented academic activities.
- Participate in departmental meetings, CME programs, workshops, conferences, seminars, and other academic activities.
- Contribute to health education and awareness programs for communities and healthcare workers.
- Develop and maintain teaching materials, field records, survey tools, academic resources, and departmental documentation.
- Maintain appropriate student attendance, assessment records, field-visit records, and academic documentation.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the Community Medicine Department and its teaching methodologies.
- Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical departments for integrated teaching and interdisciplinary public health activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable NMC guidelines, university regulations, institutional policies, public health protocols, and academic standards.
Eligibility:
Qualification:
- MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
- MD in Community Medicine from a recognized institution for faculty positions.
- Postgraduate qualification in Community Medicine for Senior Resident positions, as applicable.
Experience:
- Experience as per applicable NMC norms for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor positions.
- Postgraduate candidates fulfilling the applicable eligibility criteria may be considered for Senior Resident positions.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Community Medicine, Public Health, and Preventive & Social Medicine.
- Good teaching, presentation, communication, and mentoring skills.
- Experience in undergraduate medical teaching.
- Robust understanding of epidemiology, biostatistics, health programs, health administration, and community health.
- Experience in community-based medical education and field activities.
- Knowledge of public health research methodology and data analysis.
- Experience in conducting health surveys, screening programs, and community health assessments will be an advantage.
- Good student mentoring and academic coordination skills.
- Interest in medical education, public health research, publications, and academic activities.
- Ability to work effectively with community organizations, healthcare institutions, government health agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
