We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Commis Chef – North Indian to join our hotel kitchen team. The candidate will assist in preparing authentic North Indian dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare North Indian dishes such as curries, gravies, tandoori items, breads, kebabs, biryanis, and other Indian specialties.
- Assist the Chef de Partie and Senior Chefs in daily kitchen operations.
- Follow standard recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines.
- Ensure proper preparation and storage of ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and work area.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
- Minimize food wastage and use ingredients efficiently.
- Maintain proper cleanliness of kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Support the team during busy service periods.
- Follow instructions from senior chefs and work effectively as part of a team.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in North Indian cuisine is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic Indian cooking techniques and ingredients.
- Ability to prepare food according to hotel standards.
- Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
- Teamwork and good communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- ITI / Hotel Management / Culinary qualification is an advantage.
Experience 0–3 years of experience in a hotel, restaurant, or catering kitchen. Freshers with relevant culinary training may also be considered.
