Collections Business Development & Operations Manager – IndiaAbout the Role

We are looking for an experienced and well-connected Collections Business Development & Operations professional to help establish and grow our collections business in India.

The primary focus of this role will be to identify and secure new collection business by leveraging an established network and relationships within the banks, NBFCs, telecom companies, fintechs, lending institutions, and other organisations requiring collection and recovery services.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with a collection agency, with a proven background in marketing, sales, business development, client acquisition, and collections operations.

This is an opportunity for an experienced collections professional who can not only understand collection operations but, more importantly, bring current clients and collection portfolios to the company.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Client Acquisition

- Identify and generate new business opportunities for collection and recovery services across India.
- Leverage existing professional networks and relationships to identify potential collection clients.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks, NBFCs, telecom companies, fintechs, lending institutions, and other potential clients.
- Proactively approach decision-makers and key stakeholders to generate collection business opportunities.
- Develop leads and convert them into new collection contracts and portfolios.
- Represent the company in client meetings, business discussions, presentations, and negotiations.
- Understand client requirements and propose appropriate collection and recovery solutions.
- Prepare and support business proposals, presentations, tenders, and commercial submissions.
- Build a sustainable pipeline of prospective collection clients.
- Monitor market opportunities and identify organisations that may outsource their collection and recovery activities.
- Work closely with management to develop strategies for expanding the company's collections business across India.




- Maintain robust ongoing relationships with acquired clients to support portfolio growth and retention.

Collections Operations
- Support the establishment and management of telecalling and field collection operations.
- Develop collection strategies, workflows, performance standards, and operational processes.
- Recruit, train, and manage collection teams as the business expands.
- Build and manage a network of field collection resources across different locations.
- Monitor collection performance, productivity, recovery rates, and operational KPIs.
- Ensure collection activities are conducted professionally, ethically, and in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Work with management and technology teams to establish effective MIS, reporting, and collection systems.
- Support continuous improvement of collection strategies and operational performance.

Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in collections, preferably with a collection agency or BPO.
- Strong experience in marketing, sales, and business development within the collections or financial services sector.
- Proven ability to generate new clients and collection portfolios.
- Strong existing professional network and relationships with banks, NBFCs, telecom companies, fintechs, or other financial services organisations.
- Demonstrated experience in client acquisition and business development.
- Experience in dealing with senior-level client representatives and decision-makers.
- Strong understanding of the collection and recovery industry.
- Experience in telecalling and/or field collection operations will be an advantage.
- Experience in managing collection teams and operational activities will be an advantage.
- Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to work independently, develop opportunities, and take ownership of business growth.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and business development activities when required.





Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will be someone currently or previously working with a collection agency who has:

- A strong network within banks, NBFCs and telecom companies.
- Proven experience in sales and business development.
- A track record of bringing new collection clients or portfolios to their organisation.
- Strong client relationship and negotiation skills.
- Practical knowledge of collection operations and recovery processes.
- The ability to establish relationships and convert them into actual business opportunities.

Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to internal collection operations, without business development or client acquisition exposure, may not be suitable for this position. Key Success Measure The primary measure of success in this role will be the candidate's ability to generate new collection business and establish client relationships that result in new collection portfolios for the company.

Operational and collection-management skills will support the role, but business development, industry network, and client acquisition capability will be the key priorities.
