Role Description The CNC Operator role is a full-time, in office position based in the Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad area. The CNC Operator will set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and quality standards. Daily responsibilities include interpreting technical drawings, selecting appropriate tools, loading materials, performing machine offsets and adjustments, and ensuring accurate measurements using gauges and instruments.
The role involves performing routine machine maintenance, identifying and reporting deviations or defects, completing production documentation, and collaborating with supervisors and quality teams to meet output and safety targets.
The CNC Operator is expected to follow all standard operating procedures, maintain a clean and organized workstation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and process sheets; strong understanding of basic machining principles and tolerances.
- Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC turning and/or milling machines, including tool selection, offset adjustment, and parameter changes.
- Proficiency in using measurement and inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges) to verify dimensions and ensure quality standards.
- Familiarity with basic CNC programming or program editing (G-code), and the ability to troubleshoot simple machine or program issues.
- Knowledge of shop-floor safety practices, handling of industrial equipment, and adherence to ISO and quality management system requirements.
- Minimum vocational/technical diploma or certification in Mechanical, Production, or related field; prior experience in precision component manufacturing is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, numeracy skills, and the ability to work on repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality teams.
- Willingness to work in shifts as required and to participate in training for new machines, processes, and quality standards.
